Nurturing and Supporting Mental Wellbeing

Health Visitors

Universal

Midwives, Health Visitors and other partners work with parents and carers to support the healthy development of children and positive interaction between the child and the primary carers.

Targeted

Many children and families experience mild or temporary difficulties at some time during childhood that can be addressed early by Health Visitors, nurses or other health professionals. This may involve advice and guidance, including signposting families to information or supportive activities. Health Visitors can also provide early support through making changes or enhancements to how they support the child and family. This might include one-to-one activities, or group work, for example with Health Visitors signposting families to one of the East Renfrewshire ‘Psychology of Parenting’ Parenting programmes.
