The weather was colder this week. The Transition class were Confident Individuals using their numeracy skills when checking the weather. The class check the weather on a daily basis and demonstrate their understanding of numbers and the effect of the low temperature. They all chose correct clothing for each different day. Try and stay warm!

During our 50 things outdoors tasks, the Sunflower’s have experienced bubbles around them. Most children were able to wave or blown their bubble want to create bubbles. Everyone loved popping the bubbles and chasing them as they moved around us. We had to reach high in the sky and run fast to catch them.

This week, the Sunflower’s have started to get into the Christmas spirit by preparing some Christmas crafts. All children used glue and coloured sequins of their choice to decorate their Christmas cards. Most pupils were able to build a snowman using 2D shapes on the front of their card and some of us wrote a lovely message inside. We are super excited for all the festive activities ahead!

The Sungazers have been learning more about the different types of weather that we experience, especially going into Winter! To record how much rain will fall over the next couple of weeks, we have made Rain Gauges and placed them in the school Sensory garden. We will measure our results regularly and hopefully they won’t be too full!
Have a great weekend everyone!
This week we have had lots of fun exploring letters and sounds. We have been doing lots of “n” crafts this week. We stuck lots of numbers in a big N and made a nurse. They enjoyed using crayons to give her hair, eyes and a mouth. We also enjoyed completing various letter jigsaws and playing a fishing game catching letters with the magnetic rod.

The Stars class have created wonderful craft work to decorate the Willowbank atrium. We have made a colourful snowman wall display and lampshade angel. We have also decorated a wooden snowman as directed by the Transition class. We made tasty cheese and ham toasties at HE and learnt how to make an egg float at science time. We have also been practising hard for the Willowbank virtual Christmas showcase but these photo’s are ‘secret’ for the moment!

The Snowdrops have all shown interest in our new theme story about the Glasgow Guffalo. Everyone has responded to large picture visual aids about the story and enjoyed holding animal soft toy visual aids. We have also participated actively in art work for our class wall, using lots of different textures to create story animals.
