Willowbank School, KilmarnockThe Transition class were Responsible Citizens when they met Santa and his Elf in the Grotto. They were very safe when they roasted marshmallows and were very sensible not to eat them straight away!!! An exciting morning all round!
The Transition class were Successful Learners when they used their numeracy skills to find patterns in small sections of photographs and match them with bigger pictures. The class matched snowmen, presents and all things Christmassy!
Some of the class read a Christmas story then put their story cards into order. After they were secure in their answers we read the story again to check the sequence was correct. They were all Successful Learners and the elves saved the day and helped Santa deliver the presents.
The Transition class were Confident Individuals when we looked at interoception. We were trying to understand how parts of our bodies felts doing different activities. This week it was parts of our faces as we made funny faces and blew bubbles.

The Stars class practiced hard for our virtual Christmas Showcase. We performed to the song ‘Let it Snow’ by Michael Buble. We brought in hats and scarves and dressed up as snowmen. We created a snowflake backdrop and acted out and signed to the song. We used the parachute to float tissue paper snowballs into the air. Many people said they’d enjoyed our performance.

The Moonbeams had the best time performing in their Christmas Music Video. The children all danced with props, copied some actions and created some moves of their own. We hope all the families enjoyed the video.

The Sungazers successfully completed their Whole School Focused Area of Learning by learning, rehearsing and performing the Christmas performance. The pupils were confident individuals during the process and put on an amazing show. They were also effective contributors by preparing and fully participating in the whole school event.

The Snowdrops participated in some sensory snow fun today and made their own snowman using dough, beads and small sticks. They used their snowmen to make a lovely winter scene. Well done Snowdrops!
