The Asteroids made a jam sandwich yesterday using instructions to show them what ingredients they needed and what they had to do.
Once the jam sandwich was made, most of us enjoyed eating the jam sandwich for our snack.
We then showed off our recall and reading skills and completed a worksheet choosing the correct written or pictorial steps to making our sandwich.
We finished all off listening to the Jeely Piece song!
Great job, boys!
Fun and games
Today we had lots of fun with different activities and games. We played a farm animal matching game and had to find all the animals that were the same. We were confident individuals and effective contributors sharing and letting everyone have a turn.
ILP: Measurement
*Successful Learners* *Confident Individuals*
We have been working hard on developing our understanding of measuring equipment, units of measurement and how to measure different types of objects. Today we were looking at capacity and volume. We explored how to measure the volume of different liquids and correct terminology.
Titanic cheese tasting
I hope all of Comets had a great February break!
It’s been a good few days in Comets this week. They had Mrs Macdonald on Wednesday and did some fantastic art.
On Thursday we did some cheese tasting and we had crackers and oatcakes with them. We enjoyed the crackers, but the cheese was a bit smelly. We tasted cheese as it was a snack that was ate on the Titanic and that is our topic for term 3.
On Friday we did some literacy and numeracy games. We did games that we had to play by ourselves and games that we played with our classmates and took turns and helped each other out when we needed help. We had great listening and understanding skills. It was a fun afternoon and full of learning.
Love and Equality
In the Oak class we have been involved in weekly lessons based on LGBT. Our work is focused around two books and this week the book is ‘Prince Henry’. A story about love and equality between two people. Everyone has the choice to fall in love with whoever they want.
We spoke about our family network and who is around us and the people that care and love us. We created a family tree and we were confident individuals when sharing with our friends.

LGBT History in the Pine
This week we have been carrying out some activities for LBGT History Month.
We were creative and confident individuals and used shaving foam and the LBGT colours – red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple to create some interesting art work.
We have also been reading and enjoying different stories and talking about them, below are links to a few favourites.
The Flamingo that didn’t want to be Pink
SQA Numeracy, a favourite addition activity for these successful individuals playing skittles and counting up how many we knock down each time.
Working on our literacy skills, looking for the letters and making the letter sounds, then practising the alphabet with the some of our favourite songs.
In SQA Communication we were deciding which character was our favourite, making lots of choices.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
