We had lots of fun using our fine motor skills to create a very fluffy snowman.
We were successful learners and watched a demonstration before working independently to fill our bottles.

The Moonbeams have been learning about animals in Antarctica. We learned how Penguins, Seals and Whales keep warm in freezing cold conditions. These animals have layers of blubber. The pupils tested this for themselves. They put a finger in ice water and felt that it was very cold and then they put a finger covered in ‘blubber’ in the ice water. Some children said it felt “nice” and others were able to keep their fingers in the icy water for longer.
Confident Individuals
On Tuesday, our class elf Sonny arrived! We were all really excited to meet him and loved to listen to a story about him. He has been very naughty already! Sonny brought us an elf advent calendar and we are enjoying adding a pompom to his hat each day.
Sonny has helped us get into the Christmas spirit and this week we have enjoyed an elf hunt. We have searched for parts of our coloured elves and built them. Everyone has enjoyed decorating Christmas tree biscuits and Rudolph Reindeers too.
Successful Learners
The Sunflower class have enjoyed building and matching numbers to 20 this week. We have all worked really hard with our number blocks to build number towers. We have also used numicon and counting cards and have searched in coloured rice to find the matching number of objects.
Successful Learners Confident Individuals
The children enjoyed looking at Christmas card designs and making a choice of design. The children signed ‘Penguin’ and ‘Snowman’ and chose who they would like to send their card to. All pupils demonstrated their learning successes by tracing or writing their names in the card. Take a look at the Moonbeams magnificent Christmas Cards.
The Transition boys were Confident Individuals when they filled out charts to tell how they were feeling about either leaving school or about how they feel about their friends leaving school.
The boys in Transition were Successful Learners as they worked through their numeracy and literacy tasks. Some tasks were group activities and the boys were Effective Contributors. The literacy and numeracy tasks are beginning to take on a Christmas flavour.
