The Stars Class have been looking at what makes us different. We compared hair colour, interests, favourite foods, pets and eye colour. We made a pictogram to show our eye colour differences.
The Transition boys took lessons outdoors again when they revisited number bonds. This time they were looking at the number groups that make up twelve. The boys found twelve large sticks and spend time dividing them up into two groups of different values. The boys were all Confident Individuals when they wrote their totals on the whiteboards.
During the lovely weather the Transition boys had a Nature Scavenger Hunt. They were all Effective Contributors as they hunted around for items and shared their answers in the group. The reward for such hard work was a quick shot on the swings before returning to school.
The boys combined outdoor learning with National Digital Learning week. #NDLW19 We went on a colour hunt in our sensory garden and used the iPad to take pictures of the colours we found. When we returned to the classroom we put the pictures taken on the SMARTboard so all our friends could see the pictures we had taken.
The Sunflower boys have been very busy this week using a range of different digital technologies. We use our SMARTboard daily for morning group and also for lots of different maths activities. We use a number of different programme to support our maths learning “Counting songs” regularly and this week we used the “Number run”. The boys really enjoyed the sound effect of the Number run programme. We also used the Beebots and pressed the buttons to make the Beebot move from one place on the mat to another. We used to iPads to play games and got to experience the story headphones to listen to different sounds.
This week we have been confident individuals exploring technology. We have carried on working our Australian theme… and enjoyed the lovely sunshine.
National Digital Technology Week, we have been enjoying taking part in the literacy and numeracy tasks this week on the iPad.
We were successful learners when we were taking part in a group challenge during our time work. We were experiencing how long one minute felt and who could pop the most balloons in a minute. Nathan was the champion! There was a lot of concentration from all the boys during this challenge.
We had a fun party for one of our class friends to wish him good luck!
We all enjoy coming together and having a laugh.
The Stars class have explored numerous digital activities this week. We enjoy using digital technology to learn and communicate.
Today our numeracy group explored the ‘sock box’. We counted, matched patterns, compared colours and size, had a treasure hunt and felt different textures. We all had a happy session.
