Effective Contributors – Dance

The Transition class took a break from rehearsing out Xmas show this week and just danced to keep moving and improve fitness. We had use of all the equipment and moved our bodies in many different ways. The whole class listened to Mrs Feeney very well and were Effective Contributors to each dance routine. A favourite was the wings, just a shame we couldn’t really fly!

Whole School Christmas Craft

*Effective Contributors           *Successful Learners

The Stars class have created wonderful craft work to decorate the Willowbank atrium. We have made a colourful snowman wall display and lampshade angel. We have also decorated a wooden snowman as directed by the Transition class. We made tasty cheese and ham toasties at HE and learnt how to make an egg float at science time. We have also been practising hard for the Willowbank virtual Christmas showcase but these photo’s are ‘secret’ for the moment!

Children in Need

*Effective Contributors       *Responsible Citizens

We have participated in loads of fun activities for Children in Need. We have made Pudsey ears and a mask as well as a playdoh Pudsey. We have had a duck race, iced Pudsey cakes and enjoyed spotty sensory activities. We thought Children in Need day was a good way to collect money to help other children.

Effective Contributors – Christmas Craft

Whilst some of the class were out on community travel, those left behind continued the Christmas display work. They were Effective Contributors when they all worked together making snowy backgrounds, white wooden snowman heads and decorated Christmas trees. They were using fake snow which even got hoovered up to ensure the class was alltidy and presentable.

Effective Contributors – Snowman Decoration

The Transition class were Effective Contributors when they helped make the class Snowman decoration. They chose to model it on the original snowman from the movie ‘The Snowman’. Crepe paper was used to make the nose look like an orange. Some pupils used paint to make cotton balls look like coal. A real group effort.

IDL – Sciences – Stem Challenge – How Strong is Spaghetti?

*Effective Contributors    *Successful Learners

We quickly learnt that a single strand of spaghetti is very weak and breaks easily. However, if you place them closely packed together they form a strong bond. They are stronger bundled together horizontally rather than vertically.
