Every morning we use our Big Mack devices to share our news during ‘snack and chat’. We have also been exploring the different ways we can make circles on the SMARTboard – creating big and small circles!
During his class’s France theme, Leo learned how to play Frère Jacques on the bells! What a confident individual!

It is National Numeracy day and Digidabble week in school so we thought we would have a slightly different streaming lesson. We used iPads and went on a hunt around the sensory garden to find a range of 2D and 3D shapes.

The Moonbeams class read an e-book called “The Goats of Anarchy”. It was all about a farmer called Leanne who had a range of animals with disabilities. Angel a little goat had poorly back legs so a pig helped her create a cart so that she could still play on the farm.
The pupils enjoyed this story and it opened up lots of discussions about how we are all different and unique but that the world would be a boring place if we were all the same.

It is Digidabble Week in school and the Moonbeams class completed an East Ayrshire travel survey displaying how they got to school. We completed our information and used these results to read a pictogram. We used the computer to word process our information and used a phone to gather information about the distance from our house to the school.
We also used the Promethean board to help us look closely at the map of Italy. We found certain places and placed them on our own mini map and matched some landmarks.

The Moonbeams class were lucky enough to be invited along to Danger Detectives 2019. We had 5 stations to explore road safety when around buses, countryside safety, cycling safety, flood prevention and the hazard house.
We all listened really well and found it very interesting!
The Stars class were busy this week planting potatoes and onions. We must keep them well watered to grow. This week’s outing group visited Pets at Home where we saw clown fish just like those that live on the Great Barrier Reef.
ICT session in the Beech class! We interacted well with our friends while we investigated different types of ICT based games. We were very responsible and shared our games with the younger pupils as well as took turns. We used excellent communication skills when passing on instructions to our friends.
Today we raised money for cash for kids and came to school dressed up as a superhero or a princess some of the boys and girls even came in their pjs.
This morning we had a special visitor Shirley Husband who wrote the Harris McCoo books she read us the stories and even brought Harris to visit us. We listened well to the stories and danced with Harris. He then opened our new soft play and we were able to have a go. We really enjoyed the ball pool and the new plane soft play to rock on.
In the afternoon we made our own crowns and shields and the Daisies and Buebells joined us to have a fabby superhero afternoon. We had soft play, a dvd, dancing and some craft. We mixed with different friends and had a SUPER afternoon!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Bluebells have been confident individuals today as they have all dressed up in different outfits to celebrate Superhero Day and raise some money. The children had great fun in their costumes and even got to say hello to their friend Harris McCoo who came in for a visit and to open up our new Soft Play room. The children had great fun playing together and enjoyed listening to some of the McCoo stories read to them by author.
