Mr Campbell introduced the Oak boys and staff to Dough Disco today! It was fun and a little bit silly, but helped us develop our fine motor skills. We were all successful learners!

This week the Stars class presented assembly where we talked about being ‘included’ and included other classes by asking them to vote for their favourite song to dance to at the end. The Proclaimers, ‘500 Miles’, was the winning song. We also enjoyed a colour treasure hunt in the garden and had a wonderful sensory experience exploring chocolate ‘Angel Delight’.
The Moonbeams were successful learners this week as they explored foods with seeds. They cut and tore a variety of fruit and vegetables to find seeds and discover their size and texture. The children used magnifying glasses to get a closer look at the smaller seeds. The Moonbeams really enjoyed this messy lesson.
The Transition boys were Confident Individuals when they were practising their balancing skills on the beam. They had to stand, walk and turn without touching the ground.
Here are some of the ways we have used numbers and celebrated the joy of maths this week!
We are in Italy this week as part of our mini-topic! We made pizza’s by counting the number of different ingredients customers wanted on their pizza
The girls enjoyed counting and sorting the different shaped ingredients.
We did some work on Roman numerals by taking part in a code-breaking treasure hunt.
We listened to some numbers in Italian and played some parachute games using Italian numbers!
Gemma using our daily calendar to find the date
Sean practising counting out cups for his friends at snack time and giving them out to his friends.

We used our number knowledge in cookery this week to measure out ingredients needed to make lemonade and truffles.
Gemma and Nicole utilised their money handling skills at our weekly tuck shop!
The Transition boys were Confident Individuals while preparing and tasting cheese from around the world.
The Transition boys enjoyed an afternoon of music. They were Effective Contributors by using I-pads, shakers and bells to keep in time to the beat.

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS *
The Bluebells class enjoyed making some playdoh pizzas (similar to the pizza we seen falling from the sky in our theme film “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”).
Once our pizzas were created, we pretended to share them with some customers. We used cutting tools and practised cutting the pizza into halves and quarters.
* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS *
The Bluebells class were very successful on a 2D shape hunt around the school where they had to find 16 hidden colourful shapes. We all worked together and managed to find their hiding places.
