Sunflowers enjoyed a walk to Scotmid

The Sunflowers Class had a nice walk to Scotmid this morning.  We were all responsible citizens walking nicely round to the shop, buying bread and brining it back to school.  We then had some toast and practised our spreading skills.

FAOL Science

The Sungazers Class have been growing cress over the last few weeks.  We have decorated our pots by using different designs.  In our first pot we used cotton wool to put our seeds on and in the second we used kitchen roll.  Everyday we checked our seeds to see how they were growing.  The cotton wool pots grew best.  We have loved watering our seeds and watching them grow over the last few weeks!

FAOL – Outdoor Learning

Responsible Citizens/Effective Contributors

Now the weather is beginning to change, we have been exploring ways we can help feed the birds and making some fun bird feeders for the school garden.  The Snowdrops used pipe cleaners and cheerios to create a feeder for the birds.  Everyone showed good fine motor skills threading the cheerios onto the pipe cleaners.  The Snowdrops also enjoyed tasting some cheerios too!  We are going to hook them over branches on the trees in our school garden.

As part of our Enormous Turnip story theme work, the Snowdrops have been exploring how vegetables grow.  We had lots of sensory fun making rain with our water sprayer and making the sun shine with our torch.  In class, we are trying to grow some carrot heads and will look after them over the next few weeks and see if they grow!

Macmillan Day

The Stars class made mars bar cake which we sold in school for Macmillan Day. There was only one piece left………….and that didn’t last long back in class! We are proud to say we made £9.90 to donate to the appeal. We participated in Friday afternoon activities. We iced biscuits, created a colourful cupcake picture, made a fizzing green volcano and enjoyed sensory handling. A great afternoon was had by all.

Magic Carpet Moments!

* RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS, CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS *

Most of the Bluebells class enjoyed exploring the mobile magic carpet. We had fun exploring paint splatter, cosmic nights and marine fish apps and also played some pair games.

One child was a little unsure of the magic carpet and chose not to touch it saying it was “scary”. We will use this more often in the class in the hope that they become more familiar and confident.

We have been working very hard at turn taking and balancing in PE this term. We have been confident individuals risk assessing before balancing and looking for some support from an adult or friend when we need it.
