It was lovely to celebrate our Super Stars at our P1-3 Assembly this week. For many of our children, it was their first experience of being presented with a certificate at assembly and it was a joy to hear 170(ish) voices singing along to “You Are A Star”.
Well done to our Super Stars this week 🙂
We will soon be welcoming back Mark Colman from Kilmarnock Cricket Club as he delivers lessons to the P5 and 6 classes. However please see below details of how children of all ages can become involved with the club. For more details you will see a contact number at the bottom of this information leaflet.
I am delighted to inform you that, at yesterday’s assembly, the children were informed that we have now received our report and have successfully been awarded gold level within the UNICEF Rights Respecting Schools Award programme. Here is Isla Clarke, member of the Rights Respecting Schools steering committee and Mrs. McLaughland, Rights Respecting Schools lead with the report. We will receive our certificate and display banner very soon. More photographs to follow…..
At assembly we celebrated fantastic wider achievements from several of our pupils. Our first photo shows Indie, Ella and Isla from P4 who, during the Easter holidays, received pink and gold medals for taking part in a 3 night Centrestage show with DDI dance school. Kainan from P5A took part in a 3 mile kilt walk and raised £145 for Marie Curie Cancer Care in memory of his grandfather who died from cancer. Hallie in P4B received medals in tap and ballet dancing from the Jam Street School of Dance. The bottom row of photos show talented sisters Alice (P4C)and Anna Reid (P6A). Alice won a West of Scotland medal for gymnastics. Her older sister, Anna competed as part of a team of 3 in the Tigers International Acro Cup gaining a silver medal. Very well done to all these talented pupils in our school!!

Today we had the long-awaited return of our P.1-3 and P.4-7 assemblies in the hall. It was so lovely to see the sea of blue sweatshirts back together again!
It was great to start our new term with more news of fundraising being done by one of our pupils. Jack Johnstone in P4C raised an astonishing £530 by completing the “100milesinMarch” challenge – he even managed to do 151.2 miles! Jack chose to raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund because of his love of animals.
Jack, we are so proud of you and we have no doubt the money you raised will be gratefully received by this very worthwhile charity.
If anyone is still waiting for a book from the Book Fair, please let Mrs Lawson know as soon as possible. Many thanks.
