Virtual Bump Up Day -Thursday 25th June

On Thursday 25th June there will be a ‘Virtual’ Bump Up Day. In order to facilitate this your child has been added to a new class Teams for session 20/21.

Information about which set each child is in will be shared on there, along with the teacher they will be working with. Staff will post a short video onto this class Teams so they can introduce themselves and show the children around their class.

PE – Toss and catch practice

  • Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well and staying safe.
Virtual Sports Day Points have been finalised but I won’t be announcing the winning house until I have a highlights package ready, for which I need to liaise with Mrs Griffiths first ( she’s an expert at this stuff). Can I thank you all for your participation and for sending in your scores, videos and pictures – there are some crackers among them!

Did anyone manage to have a fun games night? We have had a few in the Smith household over the lockdown although I think my girls and wife are cheating as I haven’t won a single game yet ☹️. Feel free to send in any photos of your games and sporting activities.
For tomorrow I am posting a couple of throwing and catching activities. These are the Scarf Toss and Catch which is primarily aimed at he lower primary classes to improve hand to eye coordination ; and the Sevens Ball Game for middle and upper school although you should try the activities from either sheet if you are able.
If some of you find these too easy can you adapt them to suit your ability?

Have fun and remember to keep doing your workouts and any previous activities you have enjoyed.
Mr Smith

Gargieston Hub

Any child who has attended the Gargieston Hub over the past 11 weeks will recognise Andrew (fondly known as Mr Beard) who co-presents this episode of BBC’s Reflections at the Quay.

Andrew works for Vibrant Communities and has been in the Hub every day since the first day of lockdown.  He has been a consistent, kind, friendly face for the children and they have really enjoyed working with him.  In this episode, Andrew talks about his experience of supporting our children during lockdown.  Some of the childrens’ artwork also features.
