Football

We received these two adverts for boys and girls football training at Kilmarnock College. All the sessions are free. If you are interested more details are available on the links below:

Kilmarnock Cricket Club lessons

Over the past few years, Gargieston has been very fortunate to have had coaching sessions from Mark Colman for the children in Base 4. The children have benefitted greatly from his expertise in passing on his skills and enthusiasm for the game. We have even had success in competitions thanks to his input.

Mark also runs sessions directly through the Club and would invite interest from children in joining him in their evening sessions at the Scott Ellis Playing Fields. Please see below for further details and contact numbers.

An Easter Message

As we head off for our Easter holidays Rev McNaughtan, our school chaplain, has recorded a special message for us. We hope you enjoy listening to his message and that you all have a wonderful holiday.

Who’s Your Hospital Hero?

Who Is Your Hospital Hero?

Why not show your support for our NHS by downloading the colouring sheet below and making a donation through the Just Giving link on the sheet? All money raised will go to Crosshouse Children’s Fund. As this is being run by Morrisons in Kilmarnock, all the completed sheets will be displayed in their store.

Please return all sheets to the school for collection by Thursday 1st April. Have fun!

A National Winner!

We are delighted to tell you that Abbie Russell’s entry in Shelter Scotland’s national competition for their 2021 Christmas card design, was the winner!

Abbie’s design was selected from entries from all over Scotland – an amazing achievement! Abbie, we are so proud of you and also of Freya Lee, P7A,  who instigated the fundraiser within the school.

We would invite you to watch this short clip sent to us from Shelter Scotland showing Abbie’s design and also an outline of the amazing work done by the charity.

Abbie, we’ll look forward to seeing your design in the shops later in the year!

A Huge Thank You

We are overwhelmed with how many  reverse advent calendar donations we have received throughout December.  We can’t thank you enough for your generosity as this will help feed numerous families this Christmas.

We hope you have a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, we’ll see you next year,

Ella J, Kyle C and Jamie H on behalf of P7

Calling all artists…!

Do you want your drawing to be famous? Here’s how to                        get involved!

The charity Shelter, houses homeless and struggling families. They also do lots of volunteer work by giving out Christmas dinners, food and blankets. They have been struggling this year as they haven’t  had many donations. I would like to raise some money to help the charity buy the necessary items.

They are holding a Christmas Card Competition and the winning drawing will be on the Christmas cards they will sell next year. By donating £1 on ParentPay we will give you the template to draw on and full details of the competition.

I would be grateful if as many of you as possible could get involved to raise money for, and awareness of, this hard-working charity.

Many thanks

Freya Lee  (p.7)

St Andrew’s Day

As we celebrate St Andrew’s Day on 30th November, we would like to thank Rev. McNaughtan for this kind message he recorded especially for everyone at Gargieston.
