Shelter Christmas Cards

Just a reminder that Shelter’s Christmas cards with Abbie Russell’s winning design on them are now for sale – £2.49 for 10.

Abbie visited the Prestwick shop last weekend, where she saw her cards for sale and received a gift from the staff.  Abbie, we are so proud of your achievement.

If anyone would like to buy a set of Abbie’s cards and support this Scottish charity as we head towards a difficult time for so many, please follow the link below:

Morrisons – It’s Good To Grow

Thank you to everyone who has supported the school through the Morrison’s It’s Good To Grow offer.

Sunday is the last day to donate your tokens:

A Harvest Message

Thank you so much once again to our school chaplain, Rev. McNaughtan, for recording a Harvest message for the children to watch.

This message ties in beautifully with our Rights Respecting Schools work, as it includes a video from Malawi where climate change storms have had a devastating impact on the community’s food and water supplies. Article 24 tells of the rights children have to food and clean water.

The whole message only lasts around 10 minutes – we hope you enjoy watching this at home too.

Art competition

Rev. McNaughtan has invited the children to participate in an art competition being run in time for Harvest.

There are super prizes including 2 x Crayola Inspiration 140 piece Art Case; 2x 72 piece drawing set for the older ones; and 4x 96 piece Crayola Crayons for the 4 runners up.

Closing date is Sunday 3rd October. Full details are available on the following link:

Good luck, everyone!

Captain Conker Visit

Follow the link below to see some fantastic footage of Captain Conker’s visit to Gargieston last week to launch his writing competition with Kilmarnock FC and Nae Bother books 🙂

So proud!

We have been so proud of Mark Wilson in P6A this week and wanted to share something he has done.

Mark, his sister Rachel and two friends raised money for the World Wildlife Fund, sending away an amazing £81 for this wonderful charity. This certainly shows one of our school values – kindness.

Mark, we are so proud of you and you thoroughly deserve the gold card to go towards the Yellow House points!

A Message From Rev. McNaughtan

As we all head off for the summer break, please enjoy this message from our school chaplain, Rev McNaughtan as he wishes the children a happy holiday and all the best for their next year group  or new school in August.

Thank you to Rev McNaughtan for taking the time to record this for everyone here at Gargieston.

An Act of Kindness!

It was amazing to hear about another of our pupils donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust – a true act of kindness.

Here’s Amy Gray in P6B after her visit to the hairdressers, holding the certificate she received, plus the gold card from us for demonstrating one of our Gargieston values.

Well done, Amy!
