Reverse Advent Calendar
Primary 7 are organising a reverse advent calendar for the food bank. We would love the ECC and School to take part.
During the month of December, we are asking your child to bring in one non-perishable food item to give to Ayrshire East Food Bank. Every child will receive a number and this will correspond with a date up to the 18th of December. Therefore, if they are number one they will bring their item on the 1st of December and so on. If their number falls on a Saturday they will bring it on a Friday and on a Sunday they will bring it on a Monday. Your child will receive their number as soon as possible.
We would really appreciate your help with this as we know some families will be struggling over Christmas time.
Thank you for your help.
Yours sincerely,
Kyle Chambers and Jamie Hodkinson
(On behalf of Primary 7).

Kilmarnock Standard photographs
We are delighted to see the Primary 1 photos of our departing P7 children in the Kilmarnock Standard this morning. It was a lovely idea the paper had to help give all the children heading to secondary a fond farewell. Why not have a look in the paper to see how many you recognise and enjoy the poem written especially for the. All the best next week 7s – you’ll be fine!
Twas back in 2013
You came through Gargie doors
All shiny and polished,
Wondering what was in store
Miss Houston, Mrs Mackie
Mrs Marshall – all three.
Your very first teachers
How special they would all be!
The years rolled on
And older you got
Some came. Some left
But they’ll not be forgot
Base 1, Base 2
The more you grew
Base 3 and Base 4
The years just flew
The day finally came
You were Primary 7
Captains and Prefects
It was absolute heaven!
Panto Pandemonium
Of this you were stars
We will never forget
How amazing you are!
Then along came Covid
It ruined our plans
No Arran, no party
None of us were fans
But we want you to know
Whatever you do
We think you’re so special
And we’ll miss all of you.
Leaving Gargieston by Brooke Handy
Brooke wrote this fabulous poem for the staff and we would love to share it with you. Thank you, Brooke!
Leavers’ Day!
Well it is Leavers’ Day! It wasn’t the week we were all expecting and hoping for but Mrs Mackie, Miss Davidson and Mrs Lawson all hatched plans to give them some special memories to take with them.
On Wednesday 50 bags with their leavers’ hoodies, secondary school ties and autograph books were hand-delivered in surprise visits to the Primary 7 houses. It was an emotional day but one that everyone will remember.
Miss Davidson and Mrs Mackie had also made a year book for them to download and keep with everything from their Primary 1 photos, pictures from P7 and messages from the staff.
Primary 7 you have been an amazing year group and we wish you all the very best as you head off to secondary. We will look forward to hearing all about your achievements and successes, but in the meantime have a wonderful summer!
A thoughtful message….
In any ‘normal’ year, part of our final week would be walking to St Andrew’s & St Marnock’s church for our end of term service. Rev McNaughtan has recorded us a really lovely message which we hope you will enjoy too, with something very special at the end for the Primary 7s. Thank you so much to him for doing this – it is hugely appreciated!
