Thank you to Mr Wallace from Ayrshire Signs & Graphics for designing this fantastic banner to welcome our new Primary 1 children to Gargieston.

New addition to the Gargieston Family!

How lovely it is to share some happy news with you all today. We are delighted to introduce you to Olyvia Hay who was born yesterday weighing 6lb 12oz.

Many congratulations to Mr & Mrs Hay on the birth of their beautiful baby girl. Welcome to the Gargie family Olyvia 💕

Gargieston Hub

Any child who has attended the Gargieston Hub over the past 11 weeks will recognise Andrew (fondly known as Mr Beard) who co-presents this episode of BBC’s Reflections at the Quay.

Andrew works for Vibrant Communities and has been in the Hub every day since the first day of lockdown.  He has been a consistent, kind, friendly face for the children and they have really enjoyed working with him.  In this episode, Andrew talks about his experience of supporting our children during lockdown.  Some of the childrens’ artwork also features.

3D Printing Hub

Many of our children will know that Mr Stewart has a keen interest in technology and is very skilled in this area.

As well as supporting children at the Gargieston Hub during the school closure period, Mr Stewart is also putting his skills to good use by working in the 3D Printing Hub at Stewarton Academy where he is involved in the production of visors. .

These visors have been donated to care homes within our community to provide added protection for the residents and staff.

We are very proud of Mr Stewart and the work he is doing to support carers and residents within our community – well done 🙂

A Message To All Our Children……….

It feels like such a long time since we were all together in school – we miss you all so much.  But even though we can’t see you every day, we love talking to you on Teams and we are still here for you. You can always ‘count on us!’

Thank you to Mrs Griffiths who put together this video of the Gargieston staff.  We hope that you enjoy it.

Take care, stay at home and stay safe  🙂

Lego Challenge

We know that lots of our children love a STEM challenge.

This LEGO challenge has lots of great ideas that we thought some of you might wish to try 🙂

Mini First Aid Workshop

One of our parents shared information about this First Aid workshop on Facebook which is aimed at Primary age children.  We thought may be of interest to parents and children across the school.

Smiling is Infectious by Lucy (P1B)

Earlier this week, Lucy recorded this lovely poem to cheer up her Grandparents and she also shared it with Mrs Bloomfield on her blog.

With kind permission from Lucy and her parents, I would like to share it with you.  It certainly made me smile this morning 🙂

Well done Lucy!

Good morning everyone!  I hope that you all managed to enjoy the Easter break and had a lovely time with your families.  We are so lucky that the weather has been good and the sunshine is set to continue this week.

The staff will be online again from today to chat to the children and set them some tasks and activities for the week.  Teams is a great way for the children to keep in touch with each other as well as their teachers.  If you have any difficulties accessing this, please let us know.

We are all missing the children and can’t wait to have them back in school.  But for now – stay home, stay safe and keep in touch 🙂

New Addition to the Gargieston Family

I am delighted to share with you the happy news that Mr & Mrs Baird, along with Cameron and James, have welcomed a beautiful baby boy into their family.

Patrick was born on Monday 6th April weighing a very healthy 9lb 4ozs.  As you can see in the pictures below, Mrs Baird and Patrick are both doing well.  We can’t wait until he can make his first trip to Gargieston to meet us all.
