Gargie Galleries

Please enjoy watching what our children have been getting up to at home:

Gargie Gallery P1-3:

Gargie Gallery P4-7: (sorry Alice, your video went a bit topsy turvy?!)

All our messages…

Just to say a massive thank you to all of you who tied messages of support on the school gates.

They have given the whole Gargieston community a real sense of togetherness and brought a smile to many faces when it has been most needed.

I think it is perhaps time now for me to take them down as many are torn and water-stained with all the wind and rain; some have even blown out their poly pockets.

Thanks again for this fantastic display and enjoy your long weekend.

Yoga Pose of the Day

Good morning everyone 🙂 it’s Friday 😀 well done for another hard working week of home learning! Todays pose is:

‘Revolved Side Angle Pose’.

It’s a holiday Monday and Tuesday so the next yoga pose won’t be until Wednesday but I hope you all have a fab long weekend and remember to spread that kindness 🌈🌈🌈

Yoga Pose of the Day

Good morning guys! Lovely to hear some of the kind things you have been doing this week! ;D Todays pose is

‘Reclining Bound Angle Pose’.

Lying flat, put the soles of your feet together and just relax for a few minutes. Think of 3 things you’re grateful for or 3 things that make you happy – would love to hear them!

Outdoor Classroom Day

This year’s Outdoor Classroom Day is happening on this Thursday 21st May 2020. Outdoor Classroom Day aims to inspire and celebrate outdoor learning and play both at home and at school. Usually, this day is celebrated by teachers taking their classes outdoors for their lessons, however, this year, of course, due to the coronavirus crisis, things will look a little different, with the vast majority of teaching and learning taking place online and at home.

The organisation promoting Outdoor Classroom Day have decided this year to launch the movement – ‘Playful Nature’ – after collaborating with parents and teachers across the globe.

Their aim is to support children to continue to connect to nature, even during a period of lockdown and staying at home. They believe that this connection is best made through play and have shared a variety of activities on their website which encourage a connection with nature both indoors and outdoors. On 21st May – Outdoor Classroom Day – they are encouraging everyone to bring playful nature to their setting, family and home.
These ideas and activities can be found here: https://outdoorclassroomday.com/

Yoga Pose of the Day

Good morning everyone. 😀

Hope you are all having a good week so far! On Monday I should have mentioned the fact that it is mental health awareness week. Yoga is so so good for your mental health, make sure to take some time to yourself this week and do something you enjoy! Todays pose is:

‘Pigeon Pose’.

Also, as the theme for Mental Health Awareness is ‘kindness’ why don’t we all try and do something kind for someone today, maybe check in with a friend, neighbour or family member 🙂 Spread that kindness! 🌈 🌈 🌈

Health and well-being challenge

Good morning everyone, Hopefully most of you will have started filling in your food journals – if not you can start any day you wish as long as you try and do it for a whole week. Lower classes can ask their parents to help them out. Today I am posting a diagram of the eatwell plate which we have studied in class. For each food you have in your journal could you try and note which category it comes under. You could do this by underlining or writing in the appropriate colour as shown on the plate. How many can you get without checking the guide? Again pupils in lower classes will need some assistance from parents. How many of your 5 a day are you eating?

Once the school restarts we will be doing athletics and fitness in PE so could you please continue with your jumps and workouts. Thanks again, Mr Smith
