Ski Team

Well done to our ski team – Isabella Blackwood, Corey Mackay, Max Goudie and Jack Wilson who took part in a competition at Newmilns on Saturday. Thank you for representing the school so well. We are very proud of you all!

MacMillan Coffee Morning Success

Miss Davidson and Mrs Mackie are hugely proud of their P7 pupils who ran the MacMillan Coffee Morning on Friday. Each child played their part in delivering a great event for a worthy cause.
Thank you again to all those super bakers out there who kindly brought some treats in for the event and to those who came along to support the event.
This year we managed to raise £378.49, well done everyone!

ECC Rocket

The ECC have created a new way for the children to be rewarded for excellent behaviour. This reward system is to celebrate achievements which are outstanding and not just expected behaviour. Children can also move down the rocket which is a visual aid for them to understand consequences of negative behaviour. If a child moves down the rocket this will not continue onto the next day, they will be back in the middle to begin a new day. Once a child reaches the top of the rocket we celebrate them “going to the moon” and they receive a special super star sticker.

ECC Chestnuts

Please do not bring in any chestnuts to the ECC due to allergies. If you go on an Autumn walk with your child we would love to see photo’s of items you have collected but please no chestnuts in the ECC. Thank you for your cooperation. 🙂

Aldi Posters Complete

Thank you so much to everyone who has brought in Aldi stickers for our 2 posters. Thanks to your generosity we have already collected over 300 stickers which means we have collected the maximum number of stickers allowed and our posters are now complete. Please don’t send any more in to school. We will see if we can donate our extra stickers to one of our Grange Learning Partnership schools. Thanks again to everyone who helped us gather the stickers. We can now apply for Kits for Schools.

Wider Achievement Assembly

Our next Wider Achievement Assembly will be held on Monday 7th October.

Children should bring in any achievements along with their wider achievement award slip on Friday 4th October.

ECC Fire engine visit

The ECC enjoyed a visit from the fire engine today. We all got a shot of the hose, listened to the siren and had a seat in the fire engine 🙂

ECC Word Aware

For the next 2 weeks we are going to be learning about  ‘noisy’. The children have been talking about things that are noisy and not noisy. Please discuss/look for things at home or when you’re out and about that are noisy and not noisy and post photos on your child’s E-portfolio.

Pre-school-Primary 7 STEM Clubs

Image result for stemMiss McColl, Miss Caldow, Miss Fyvie and Miss Kinnaird are interested in running after-school STEM clubs at Early (including pre-schoolers), First and Second Level. We have built a partnership with the Kilmarnock Engineering and Science Society (KESS) who will also be supporting these workshops. The hope is that the Second Level club will run in Term 1, First Level in Term 2 and Early Level in Term 3. To allow the team to plan appropriate activities we would like pupils to choose the areas of STEM they are most interested in.

Please follow the link below and choose the top three Science areas your child is interested in.
