Active Literacy Information Session

Active Literacy

The whole school is going to be embarking on an exciting new method of teaching Literacy – specifically, phonics, spelling and reading.

All staff have already been, or about to be, trained in Active Literacy and will be working with the children on this all the way from P1 to P7.

We would like to invite you to an information session and hopefully answer any questions you may have.

Active Literacy Information Sessions

Actors will re-enact the different time periods of the castle from an iron age chief to the present day. Archaeologists will also be on site for visitors to chat to and see what they have been finding during their digs so far.

Ancient Egypt Fun Day at The Baird Institute

This Fun Day at The Baird Institute may be of particular interest to the children in Base 3 who are really enjoying a topic on Ancient Egypt just now. Further details 01290 427084.

ECC Scarecrow

On Sunday 29th September there will be a scarecrow competition at Dean Country Park to celebrate Autumn Fest. Autumn Fest is a free event and runs from 11am until 3pm. The theme is space. After discussion the children in the ECC decided to create Yoda the scarecrow. Yoda will be at Dean Park on Sunday for everyone to meet. Please go along and vote for Yoda as first place will win a prize for the ECC garden.

Good Luck Yoda!

Road Race

Thank you to our six P7 boys who took part in the Scottish Schools Road Relay Race on Saturday.

The two teams of three posted some great times in the results and represented us so well!

ECC new staff member

The ECC is delighted to welcome our new early learning and childcare practitioner Miss Blades. Miss Blades will work on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday covering all of the key groups to allow key workers time to complete children’s targets, personal plans and scrapbooks.
