Good luck to the Gargieston Ski Team consisting of
Charlie & Corey Mackay and Max Goudie
who are taking part in the National Finals at Braehead today.
Many thanks to Mr Abercrombie of Jet Clean for sponsoring the team hoodies!
Thanks to all who attended last weeks Bookbug sessions. The next sessions will be held on Tuesday the 6th of November. If you wish to attend please add your name to the list on the communication board in the cloakroom. Siblings Welcome!
Hope to see you there 🙂
Mrs Cotton.
Congratulations to the P6 and P7 team who represented Gargieston at the Cross Country Event today.
We are delighted to announce that the boys won 1st and 2nd place in both the P6 race and the P7 race!!
Congratulations to Cameron McGarey (1st place, P6), Ross Mitchell (2nd place, P6), Sam McCallum (1st place, P7) and Roan Darnbrough (2nd place, P7).
We are proud of all our competitors who were fantastic ambassadors for the school in their participation, behaviour and attitude – well done 🙂
Congratulations to our P1-3 Super Stars who received their special certificates at assembly today. Well done Lily, Blair, Emily, Abbie and Greg 🙂
If anyone has a van which could transport an old style roller blackboard (approx. 7ft-8ft tall) from The Dick Institute to the school this week and back at a later date, could they please let Mrs Lawson know? It is for the P7 school play and would make a terrific prop.
Many thanks,
Mrs Lawson
Performance dates / times:
WEDNESDAY 7TH AND THURSDAY 8TH NOVEMBER 7PM – 8.45PM (APPROX.)
All Primary 7 children should now have two tickets for the Wednesday night performance of our play. If they do not need both tickets could one be returned for others to use? Any left over will be distributed on a first come first served basis.
The Thursday night is a community performance with local groups such as care homes and history societies being invited. However, there will still be some tickets left over. Primary 6 children who are coming along as a supporting choir, are welcome to one of these or should Primary 7 children who would also like grandparents or other relatives to see the play, can also request these tickets – again first come first served basis.
All P7 children are aware of what costumes / clothes they will need. However if anyone has a top hat we could borrow, that would be great. We actually need two of these! Many thanks.
A group of children accompanied Mrs McKee, Mrs Work and Mrs Maz to the Keepmoat Homes development to accept a donation of £1000 towards our school Trim Trail.
The school community would like to thank Ramona and the team at Keepmoat Homes for their generous donation. We have now raised over £11,000 towards our target and are confident we can achieve our total before the end of the year.
Mrs McKee and Mrs Work also met with the architectural team today who will be project managing the installation. We are on track for installation in April 2019 🙂
Many thanks to our fundraising group, parents and the wider school community for their continued support of this ambitious project.
We are considering the possibility of organising a Walking Bus from Gargieston Primary School to Ayrshire College for any of our girls who would be interested in going to participate in football.
We are looking for parent volunteers who could possibly assist on a rotational basis to allow our girls to attend these free sessions.
