School to Re-open.
Here is the information which has been posted on the East Ayrshire Council website:-
We anticipate that all educational establishments will re-open on Friday 19 January 2018. Multi-agency efforts are being made today to ensure safe access to, and around, educational sites in readiness for potential opening. In the light of current weather forecasts that may bring more snow, each individual establishment will undertake a risk assessment very early on Friday morning. Any schools which require to remain closed will be featured here on the council’s website, social media and on local radio.
P3A Snow Fun!
P3A had so much fun playing in the snow today, especially throwing snowballs at Miss Caldow!
ECC donations welcomed…
Mrs Cotton is looking for donations for the role play area. The children have asked for the role play area to become a supermarket. We are looking for donations to stock up our supermarket. Ideas would include cleaned out bottles such as fairy liquid, fabric conditioner, shampoo, conditioner, soap, sauces, milk cartons, juice bottles or any other supermarket item including food boxes/packaging. If you have any other resources suitable for our supermarket such as a till, trollies, baskets or plastic food all donations would be greatly appreciated.
Miss Clark is hoping to make up story bags and is looking for donations of things related to the stories of goldilocks and the three bears, The hungry caterpillar, The Gruffalo and a variety of other small teddies. We appreciate your help and support.
Information on developing your child’s speech sounds…
Please have a look at our communication corner for more information and leaflets on development of speech sounds. These are pointers on aiding your child’s overall language and communication development.
Nursery Rhyme of the week….
Our Nursery Rhyme of the week is Hickory Dickory Dock. Please encourage your child to make up rhyming words for each verse. Singing rhymes and developing knowledge of rhyming words raises phonological awareness for your child moving on to Primary School.
Closure – Thursday 18 January
ALL schools and educational establishments in East Ayrshire will be closed on Thursday 18 January.
This extends to primaries, secondaries, early childhood centres and special needs establishments, and to organisations who use these facilities out of hours.
This is in response to an amber weather warning for more snow and ice coming our way this evening and into tomorrow morning, which will worsen current conditions.
We have taken this decision following advice from partners and colleagues in education, roads and transportation, and in the interests of ensuring the safety of pupils, parents, staff and carers.
The situation will be closely monitored tomorrow (Thursday) before any decisions are taken for Friday.
New Books
The school has some new Bug Club books in and the Literacy group has been stamping them. We would hate it if the new books got lost or damaged. Please take care of Bug Club books or any books in the school.
Also we are looking for some lost books. If anybody has Bug Club books at their house or in their classroom we would love to get them back . Please let us know if you find any.
From Lucy McInally and Charlie Hodkinson in the literacy group.
School is Open
The school will be open as normal today.
Wrap up warm!
