What to do today
Please join in with the activities below. The more who can join in, the more fun, too. Not all of the activities are for everyone, so just do the ones you enjoy and as many times as you like.
Play along using any kind of instrument or use body percussion – clapping, tapping, clicking, stamping your feet.
Question: Do you have any suggestions for songs to appear in the Karaoke Corner? Let me or Connie know and maybe we can choose one for everyone to enjoy.
Activities (links below)
- Hello Song
- Bounce and catch
- Clap, tap and sing along to Old King Glory.
- Over the Irish Sea. Join in or hold on to a scarf with a partner to move to the song.
- Karaoke Corner: Heart of Gold by Christina and the Queens and also the original version by Neil Young with the lyrics. Look out for other Karaoke Corner blog posts for more songs. If you want to make a simple pretend microphone using a toilet roll tube and silver foil, have a look at this website.
- Time to move. Play the instruments along to the video or get up and dance. If you like, get a scarf to play with.
- Time to chill. This week we are listening to a classic song arranged for piano – Imagine, by John Lennon, played by Rousseau
- Goodbye Song
Hello Song
More ideas with this video
- If you can’t tap along, maybe a friend can tap your arm or foot for you so that you can feel the beat of the music.
- Can you stamp your feet to the music? Can you tap your shoulders or your head? Move your fingers
- Maybe try playing along with a shaker, or tap something that makes a sound that you like. A box of cereal?

Group 5 Circle Time Tuesday 19th May
Hello everyone,
I hope you enjoyed your long weekend. How are you feeling today?
Today I am feeling like Mr Worry because I have an exam to do today and another one tomorrow so I am very nervous!
For movement today I am going to do some yoga to help me feel calm. Why don’t you try it too?
The weather has been quite windy recently. For life-skills today how about going out into the garden to check whether there is any tidying up to do. I need to pick the leaves off my lawn and pick up some pots that have blown over.
For ICT check out Steve and Kirsty’s posts and then dance along with Rachel.
Have a break and then check back at 10.30 for Story time. Today’s story is Charlie and Lola, This is actually my party. I love this book, it really makes me laugh. I hope you like it too.
Check out Sign of the Day with Lorna and then it is time for Fiddly Fingers. For Fiddly Fingers do you think you could have a go at making your own clock face? Ask a grown-up to help you and then you can practise telling the time. You could make one that looks like this
or follow the instructions on this website
https://meaningfulmama.com/226-diy-clock-for-teaching-time.html
Have a lunch and then come back for Gardening / CDT with Scott. I am really looking forward to seeing what he has been up to recently.
Lastly it’s time for Health and Well-being. To help you relax at the end of the day why not do some colouring? You could colour an online picture like one of these from Disney
https://lol.disney.com/games/coloring-pages
or you could take your pencil ‘for a walk’ and then colour in the pattern. Watch this video to see what I mean.
I would love to see what patterns your pencil makes!
Have a great day.
Sarah
