Here’s something a little bit different for you to try today! I have made a very special quiz all about our last class topic – Come and Visit Scotland. You will need a grown up to help you to read the questions but I hope that you have remembered lots of facts and will know the answers!
To do the quiz, please just click on the link below.
https://kahoot.it/challenge/09813464?challenge-id=f7e99898-d268-40ac-ab21-33079852aadd_1589148008860
(Grown ups – Please let me know if there are any problems with this as this is the first time that I have used Kahoot on the blog.as opposed to the live version).
Below is also the Story Time from Home link. This is a new book that I had bought for school but hadn’t managed to read so I hope you like it.

I hope that you are enjoying doing the shape activities this week. There is also a separate shape blog page to have a look at if you have time this week but only do what you can.
If you haven’t sent me a message for more than a week, please get in touch and let me know how you are doing.. It is very important that we all stay in touch even though we can’t be together just yet.
Have a good day and try to get outside to play in the fresh air too!
Miss McDermott
Good afternoon everybody!
I hope you all had a nice weekend out in the sunshine. I was busier than normal this weekend. I had my quiz-master hat on this weekend – I wrote a quiz for all my family on Friday and then a different one for some friends on Saturday. Have you taken part in any quizzes? Maybe I should write one for children that you could do with your families – would you like that?
I also found some oil pastels hidden away when I cleaned out a cupboard, and I have been enjoying seeing your beautiful art work so much recently that it inspired me to draw a picture. I tried to use all the brightest colours, a bit like all the nice rainbows I have been seeing on my walks.
Usernames, passwords and the school code for SumDog were emailed out recently and lots of people have started or finished the diagnostic assessment questions (the first questions which come up automatically when you first log in) which helps set future learning at the right level of difficulty.
Please remember: these first questions/games are designed to set future questions at the correct level, so children should complete them without help (although you can read them aloud) so that they don’t end up with questions/games that are too tricky for them to work on independently!
For anyone who has completed the diagnostic questions, I have set up a challenge on SumDog to help practise measuring height, length and weight, as well as a little bit more on fractions (halves and quarters). The goal is to answer 50 questions in the challenge correctly between now and next Monday to earn 50 coins. Let us know how you get on – have fun!
Have a fabulous week and stay safe,
Take care,
Yours P1 Teachers
Good morning boys and girls. I thought I would share with you my favourite story from when I was a little girl, The Tiger who came to Tea. (Video on Your Learning Journals)
I would like you to use your imagination, who would you like to come to your house for tea? What would you do? What would you eat?
Draw a picture, take photographs and/or ask an adult to help type it onto your Learning Journal for us to see.
I would like Winnie the Pooh to come to my house and he would investigate the flowers in my garden. He spotted a bee getting nectar to make honey from one of the flowers and we would enjoy a honey sandwich picnic.
Hi Primary 3,
This week my story for you is ‘One Button Benny’.
And below are the follow on activities you can do. Try to do at least two over the week.
Here are some files that might help you.

Good morning,
I’ve had a super busy week since I last checked in with you guys. I’ve been doing some running, we checked out the blossom trees by the Rose Garden, we’ve done some quizzes with family and friends and I watched High School Musical! Here’s a picture of some chalk art we did for VE Day.
Please, check out the school website for some P3 resources for home learning this week.

During the week let us know how you are getting on by emailing myself and Miss Ross.
Have a great day,

Hi, I thought I’d give you all a wee Science challenge this week. Watch the video and then try and make a climbing bug of your own. This is a great simple friction toy that any anyone can do.
I’d love to see all your creative climbing bugs.

Let me know how you get on.
Good Morning 3A!
I hope everyone had a good weekend and is ready for the week. I enjoyed time in my garden on Saturday. I showed my daughter how to play hopscotch, we drew the outline in chalk and painted a stone to use as the marker. Do any of you enjoy hopscotch? Ask someone at home to show you if you’re not sure how to play.
All of the learning resources you need for Week 6 can be found on the LPS website (link below). We have planned activities that do not need to be printed off. You can write in your Home Learning jotter or talk through your answers with someone at home.

It’s great to see so many of the class have now been on Sumdog. This week you’ll see we have set challenges for P3. Can you log in and see how you get on with times tables and fractions? The challenges are live now until Friday 12.25pm. Good luck!
Mrs Bell 🙂
I hope you had a good weekend!
Well done, everyone! I really enjoyed seeing all your wonderful work in our Celebrating Success SWAY. It really helps us to keep in touch and celebrate all your hard work.

I have attached this week’s learning grid and some resources that you can use to support what we are learning about. Do what you can and please remember you don’t need to print everything off. You can do these activities verbally or on paper/in your jotter if it is easier! Let us know if we can help with anything.
These activities are just a guide. Please feel free to do your own ideas as well. We would love to see what you come up with to do with this weeks story.

Good Morning Everyone.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I had a very busy time. It was my husband’s birthday so I made a special cake for him and we had a birthday picnic in the garden. I also walked up to Beecraigs and saw hundreds of tadpoles in the pond there!
Well done for all your great work last week and hopefully you will enjoy the activities we have planned for this week.
Lots of you have been enjoying Sumdog so keep up the good work. We have now allocated activities on Heinemann Active Maths so if you log in you will find some learning games to play there. There is also another Primary 2 blog post today with resources to help you learn about 2D shape.
For Phonics this week we are learning the qu sound. You might want to watch this short clip to help you.
There is also a game called Buried Treasure which is another way to practise this sound. Here is the link.

To help you learn about houses and homes around the world I have added a powerpoint.
Which house would you like to live in? Maybe you could draw your favourite one and send it to us.
Remember if you are out for a walk today to keep a look out for any bears sitting in windows, as Miss McDermott will be reading lots of bear stories this week.
Have a lovely day,
Mrs Mills
Good morning, everyone!
I hope you are all well and had a lovely weekend. What did you do this weekend? I enjoyed spending time in my garden on Saturday. I cut my grass and repotted some plants as they were too big for the pot they were in. I also looked at my seeds which I had sown a couple of weeks ago. I was really happy to see seedlings beginning to shoot up. I wonder how your seeds are coming along as I know some of you planted seeds. You could take photos or draw pictures of them and send them to me. I went for a bike ride yesterday. It was good fun and the sun was shining when I set off. But the weather soon changed and all of a sudden hailstones began to fall. I could hear them tapping on my helmet! I was glad to get home and warm up with a hot cup of tea!
This week we are going to learn about 2D shapes. You can do lots of fun things with shapes so I hope you enjoy our learning activities. Here is a link to our Learning Grid for this week. Please try to email me once a week to keep in touch.
Have a great day, everyone!
Mrs Herbison
