Happy Friday 15.5.2020

Happy Friday Everyone,

Another week has gone by and I have had loads of fantastic messages and pictures that make me smile. Please continue to keep in touch weekly- even if it is just to say hello and that you are safe.

I am hoping to go for a bike ride and some walks with my family over the weekend so hopefully the sun keeps shining.  Have fun and stay safe.

Happy Friday Primary 1, 15th May 2020

Another week of home learning done and what a brilliant job you have done primary one. I have been so impressed with all of your hard work and absolutely love seeing what you have been up to, as well as your smiling faces in some of the photos. This is a very strange time that we are going through and all the teachers are missing you very much.

It has been a busy week in my house with school work and games. Today we are going to make some smoothies.

Yesterday my boys and I did the rainbow science experiment. It was very exciting watching the rainbow grow.  Have you tried it?

We also have a new routine after dinner in our house. We keep an eye out of our kitchen or livingroom window, because we have had a visitor come to the back of our garden.

This gorgeous fox has been coming into our back garden almost every night for the past month and last night there were 2 of them! I couldn’t get a picture of the other one because it hid behind a tree. I think it is maybe camera shy. They are beautiful animals and just wander around having a nosy around. We make sure we are nice and quiet though so we don’t scare them.

You and the grown ups at home are doing such a fantastic job! Well done to you all!

Keep up the brilliant work and stay in touch.

Sending big proud hugs.

Stay safe and have a lovely weekend.

Quiz Time! Friday 15th May 2020

Good morning everybody and well done for all your hard work this week. Every single week you impress me with all the fun and creative learning and playing that you have been doing at home.

You are all wonderful, amazing people and I miss you all very much so it is really nice for me to get emails each week to see and hear about how you are and what you have been doing, or just to say a quick hello.

Well, after being the quiz-master for my friends last weekend and seeing as it is the weekend and you might be looking for something a bit different to do, I decided to write a child friendly quiz for you to do (if you want!) with family and/or friends in your home or on a video call.

P1 Quiz Power Point

I hope anybody who decides to give it a whirl finds it enjoyable – instructions are on the first slide!

Take care everyone and have a lovely weekend when it comes,

Love Mrs Jamieson

P2A Friday, 15.05.20

Good Morning, everyone!

I hope you are all well and have had a good week.  Today is Friday so I thought we would end the week on a happy note  –  with Mr Happy!

I hope you enjoy this story.  Please share your favourite part with someone who is as happy as Mr Happy!

I hope you and your families have a wonderful weekend.  Take care, be kind to yourselves and have fun at home.

P3B Friday 15th May

Morning, I hope everyone has had a great week.

I have been sent lots of arts and crafts this week. Have a look at this video created by someone in our class, he has been painting rocks and created a ‘How to’ video. This might be a nice activity for over the weekend. Remember to paint #LPSrocks on your rock.

I have also being doing some arts and crafts at night. This is called diamond painting, its like a paint by numbers but with tiny little beads,  20,000 of them!! I made this picture for my niece’s bedroom, she is only 9 weeks old. Now it is finished I need to think of what I can do next, does anyone have any suggestions?

Have a great weekend.

Miss Ross 😀

P3A Friday 15th May

Good Morning P3 🙂

Happy Friday!  I hope you have been enjoying the activities on our P3 grid this week.  If you managed to make the egg box mouse I’d love to see it.  Does anyone have a recommendation of a book they have enjoyed on Oxford Owl? There’s so much choice!  If you email me your top picks, I’ll add them to next week’s blog.  It could help your classmates find their next book!

Just a wee reminder that P3 have access to Maths, Spelling and Grammar sections on Sumdog. I know lots of the class have been on enjoying Sumdog this week.

Today’s exciting news is about Sumdog’s West Lothian Maths Contest.  It started this morning at 8am and finishes at 8pm on Thursday 21st May.  You’ll see the contest activity on your homepage and any games you play when this is displayed will count towards your score.  Other classes in LPS are joining in with this too, I think it sounds like great fun!

Have a good weekend and I’ll be back on the blog on Monday.

P2B Friday, 15th May

Good Morning, everyone!

Well done for all the fantastic learning you have been doing this week. Mrs Boyle and I have really enjoyed receiving e-mail updates from you and hearing about all the great work you have been doing.

Lots of you have enjoyed listening to and writing bear stories this week. Here is a link to a Cosmic Yoga workout based on one of my favourite bear stories.

Today is International Day of Families.

https://nationaltoday.com/international-day-families/

This is a day to celebrate how important our families are. It recognises that all families are different but they are all special. Now, more than ever, we need to remember how important our families are to us. Your family is doing a great job in helping and supporting you with home learning at the moment, so well done to all our fantastic families.

Have a lovely weekend.
