If you change your email address for whatever reason, can you please email wlcarmondean-ps@westlothian.org.uk or call the school office so that we can update this on the records system.  As you will appreciate this is extremely important given the current circumstances.  If you have not received email correspondence from us this week, it means we do not have an up to date contact for you.

The school/nursery calendar is now available to purchase for £1 via the school office, or, alternatively, send your child in with the money and we will send a calendar home.

Lunch pit stop at Wetherby Services. Next stop the aquarium at Hull.

It appears that Eddie decided to “help” the school cleaners last night – not sure if helping is the correct word!

He appears to have been hanging with the Christmas jumpers – wonder which stage this was at.  Can you tell boys and girls?

Eddie found Mrs Wotherspoon and Mrs McLean’s secret stash of sweeties and was found looking very pleased with himself on Monday morning!

Yesterday he disappeared from the school office and it appears that he went to the Primary 6 Christmas party with the other elves who live in Primary 6.  It looks like they had great fun – Eddie the Elf is the one in the middle!

He still hasn’t returned to the office this morning so we wonder where he has gone to now?  Keep an eye open for him boys and girls!!

Eddie the Elf has been causing chaos in school overnight playing with the Christmas decorations.  He is now back in the school office watching the children going up and down the corridor looking for the quietest class in the school

A very special visitor has arrived in school today. Be on the lookout for this mischief maker around the school!!

 

A house key has been found in the school vicinity on Wednesday night and has been handed into the school. If you think this may belong to you, please call into the school office.

Dear Parents/carers

Police are currently investigating an incident that took place involving a Carmondean Primary School pupil after they were approached by an unknown adult in the Carmondean area of Livingston this morning on their way to school.

The incident took place in the local area outwith school grounds and the pupil arrived safely at school.
Police inquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing.

We would encourage parents/carers to remain vigilant and discuss personal safety with their children
when out in the community and when they are travelling to and from school.

If you have any information about this incident, please contact Livingston Police Station on 101. In an
emergency, always dial 999.

On Tuesday 1st May we are holding a ‘Spring Clean’ around the school.  All the children will be involved with this and should wear an appropriate jacket on the day.  We are still looking for adult volunteers to help go outside with the classes.

If you are able to help with this event could you please leave a message or phone the school on 432492 telling us which of the following times you are available?

Eco Committee

Our children performed tonight at the West Lothian heat of the Glee competition at Howden Park Centre. They were all absolutely fabulous and certainly did the school and their parents proud both onstage and off. Although they didn’t win, they all had a fantastic time.  Some photos below of the event and a video of them backstage singing along to a song which would have been their set piece should they have got through.

Carmondean Primary School will now reopen tomorrow, Monday 5th March, for all staff and pupils in school and nursery. Please see WLC School Closure Webpage  for more information, including regarding transport.   This decision has been made following thorough safety checks.

There will be no breakfast club on Monday and please be aware lunch menus may change. Nursery will not open until 8.50am and will close at 3.20pm.

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

 

In light of the ongoing weather situation and travel issues, we have taken the decision to postpone the trip to Dalguise. This will be rescheduled once we are back in school and can identify a suitable date.  Children should attend school as normal once the school re-opens.
