Bonjour!
We have had a very busy week in Primary 7 this week. We began our first topic of Primary 7 – Japan. We learned about where Japan is in relation to Scotland, looked at the Japanese flag and discussed what we know about the landscape, culture and much more. We are looking forward to finding out more next week!
In RME we learned about special journeys called Pilgrimages. We researched and discussed some pilgrimages that some Christians go on. Each week we will be focusing on different pilgrimages from a different World religion.
In maths we have been working on symmetrical patterns and completing the other half of a given pattern with a range of vertical, horizontal and diagonal mirror lines. We have also been looking at the properties of 2D shapes with a focus this week on quadrilaterals. In numeracy we have been busy practicing our mental recall skills and learning about place value of 6 digit numbers and beyond.
Chris and Derek came to our classes on Wednesday to deliver a workshop about racism. We learned that we should not judge people on how they look and get to know the person. We talked about the effect racism has on people and took part in a range of activities.
Caitlin, Michael and Isla helped with our blog today .
