Primary 6

This week has been a very busy week in Primary 6. We have been learning all about the creation of the EU in our topic, looking at the Founding Fathers of the EU after World War 2. We also took short Euro-trip where we looked at a variety of landmarks from all over Europe, planning the best route around the continent as well as trying to find some fun facts about each country.

We have been getting our hands very dirty in science when looking at the human body. Pupils had the opportunity to make their very own lungs on Monday, using bottles and balloons to recreate the respiratory system. We also got to have an up close and personal look at the digestive system using tights, some food and some orange juice, some did not want to have their snack soon after!

In maths we have been continuing on our good work in decimals, exploring how important place value is when working with decimals. We have written our own version of a Jack Frost poem and some of the imagery coming from the pupils was fantastic!

Reminders:

PE kit Wednesdays

Spelling Homework Fridays

Maths Homework – Class dependent. If no homework has been given we still expect pupils to work on their maths strategies learned in class, making use of maths outside the school.

Children in Need will be a week today with the option to dress up in spotty attire, minimum donation suggestions 50p with other fundraising ongoing throughout the week.
