Visit by Commonwealth Games Athlete

Today, we were very fortunate to have a visit to Carmondean PS by a former-pupil of our school, Craig McLean, whose mum, Mrs McLean, works in our school office. Craig has been selected to swim for Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia from 05-09 April, 2018. Craig has had a lot of success in his chosen sport, but this opportunity must rank as his highest achievement to date. He will swim in the 200m freestyle individual event and be part of the relay team for the 100m and 200m. Craig presented to a packed hall and told all about his training and what it is like to be part of such a high profile team at such an auspicious event. The children had prepared questions for Craig to answer and everyone had a great time listening to his answers. We can only wish Craig and the Scottish Team every success in Gold Coast – we are sure they will do us proud!
