Points Homework Talks are Under Way!
P4 and P4/5 castle points homework talks have started today and yesterday. They are of a very high standard. Many thanks to all parents for your support.
We can’t wait to hear the rest of the talks this week!
P4’s Dancing Success
Amy, Brooke, Erin (p4) and Caitlyn (P4/5) were very busy at the weekend attending a dancing competition in Glasgow. They took part in cheer leading and hip hop routines. Erin was awarded first place in her hip hop competition and is now going to Blackpool for the finals on the 20th March! Go Erin!!
Literature Circle Illustrator Task
P4 were set a homework challenge as part of their Literature Circle for Reading to create some kind of illustration to present to their group and to explain how it linked to their group novel.
Pupils could choose from a cartoon, character map, storyboard, 3D model, colour/mood chart….or something else of their choice! Their task was to be creative!

P4 Write Their Own Growth Mindset Statements
In Language this week P4 have been learning how an author uses statements, questions and exclamation marks to create interest when reading. We used our knowledge of this to write our own Growth Mindset statements. The challenge was to include at least one statement, one question and one exclamation mark. Here are some of them below….

P4 and P4/5 Have a Light Bulb Moment!
P4 and P4/5 have been learning about Electricity this week. We have been making circuits and testing different materials to see if they are insulators or conductors. We learnt that materials that conduct electricity lit the light bulb.
P6 Fundraising
This Monday to Friday, seven girls from P6 are raising money for Cancer Research. They will be painting nails, creating a range of hairstyles and selling temporary tattoos! All money raised will help people with Breast Cancer. Watch this space for more information….
Josh Wins a Medal
Josh won a medal for saving lots of goals at his friend’s football party. Well done Josh!
P6 Stretch their Minds!
Today we were learning about drugs in HWB. We were looking at activities that can give us a natural high such as doing hobbies and playing with friends. James

On Monday we did gymnastics in gym again. We were practising cartwheels, forward and backward rolls. It was fun! Alex
We played Growth Mindset football. We had to challenge our opponents to find the opposing Growth Mindset phrase. Laurie-Anne
Sophie won the Burns Competition which means she will be going through to recite her poem ‘The Joyful Widower’ at St Kents Academy. Well done Sophie!
What Have P6 Been Up To This Week?!
We made raps, posters and leaflets showing the dangers of certain substances in Health and Wellbeing. We looked at warning signs as well. Kian
We have been learning about tobacco. We played a game called Who Am I? We had to guess who cigarette smoke infected the most in a household. Daryl and Harry
We have been doing gymnastics in gym. We have been practising cartwheels. Alex
We were to choose an animal of our choice and write two paragraphs about them. One about what the animal looks like and one about how it moves and acts. We were to translate this into Scots language. Jaime
We were learning Scottish poems such as ‘Lament on Mary Queen of Scott’s.’ Emma
Aisha brought in a lovely piece of work she completed at home in showing information on the Eatwell Plate.
