P2

P2 have been learning all about Rio as part of our Olympics topic. We can talk about famous landmarks such as Sugarloaf mountain, Christ the Redeemer statue and the Maracana Stadium.

We have been learning about opposites and can write the opposite of ‘asleep’, ‘quiet’ and ‘hard’.

Cameron A has learnt some magic E words such as ‘slime’, ‘five’ and ‘pine’.

We drew sums in the playground using chalk. Alex made 10+10=20. Sachin made 7+8=15. Ayla made 58+24=82. Izaak made 55+50=105. Matthew made 52+74=126.

Corey enjoyed putting beanbags in the hoops to make number bonds to 20.
Kieran has enjoyed doing more subtraction sums this week.

Logan enjoyed watching a Djembe drum performance from the P5 world record holders!
Cameron C is very proud of himself for reaching his assembly target. P2 are very proud of you, well done!

Well done to our star of the week, Baillie!

Raft building in P1a

Last week, P1a were busy building rafts to help save Captain Blackbeard from the desert island.

We worked well in pairs to design and build a raft! We had to think carefully about what materials would be best to make a raft that would float.

This week, we put our rafts to the test and put them in water to see which ones would  float.

All the rafts floated apart from one!
