BGE Phase (P1-P7)

Within Art & Design pupils work to gain and develop skills using a wide range of 2D & 3D media.

Throughout the lower BGE phase pupils work to expand their skills through skills-based learning and push towards pupil-led projects. The projects focus on prominent Art & Design movement & styles and their artists & designers which are engaging for the pupils and allows them to enjoy their time in Art.

Projects include:

Skills development units, revolving around the Visual Elements, Figure drawing, Portraiture, Still life, Urban art, Landscape art, Product design, Graphic design, Fashion design & Architecture.

Media used within these projects include:

Pencil, Paint, Pen, Chalk, Charcoal, Oil Pastel, Ink, Paper, Clay, Cardboard and more to allow high levels of competency for the Senior Phase.

Pupils also work on critical studies work to discuss and write about works of famous artists and designers as well as writing about what they have down well in their own work.
