As part of ‘Walk to School Week’ we were given the choice to wear something funky on our feet today for ‘Shoesday Tuesday’. Without discussing it, our teachers came in co-ordinating footwear – what a team!
Here we are in some of our favourite or funkiest footwear:
Can you believe it is October already? It has certainly felt a lot chillier today – please remember to wear layers from now on and always bring a coat!
Our fantastic week last week is featured in this week’s Peeblesshire News – check it out!
This week we have been reflecting on our “Residential at Home” week In our Writing and creating thank you cards for All the adults who made it possible. We’ve been learning a little about decimals in Numeracy and have continued developing our spelling of the long /e/ sound. Grammar focused on Singular and Plural and we also write descriptions of the Main Character from our Novel Study ‘Wonder’.
In Science we explored friction, tension and weight distribution when we designed and made our own mini Zip wires.
How successful was your zip wire? What worked/did not work and why? How did you fix any issues found while testing?
We have packed so many activities into this week we almost forgot we weren’t really on residential. You have challenged yourself, shown resilience, worked as a team, communicated well, achieved new things and shown respect and consideration for your peers and all the adult helpers. Mrs Little and Mrs Brown are so proud of you all!
Here are just a few reminders of our incredible week
Another busy week – we’ve learned a lot about Angles, Square and Triangular numbers, Optical illusions, Forces, Writing a Description, apostrophes, the long /e/ spelling sound and lots of other things. We also made a playlist for Wonder, designed a zip-wire and had a chat about Puberty!
We’re very nearly at the end of the month so it seems like a good time to check in and see how things are going. Please reflect on the following questions and post your answers in the comments:
What have you enjoyed the most since starting P7?
What have you found challenging?
What would you like to do more of?
What advice would you give to yourself for next month?
It has been brilliant welcoming all our brand new P7s back to KPS. There have been a lot of changes but we are so impressed with how settled and adaptable you all are. There has been much excitement and eagerness to get going with our new iPads and we have already started seeing how they can enhance our learning.
P7A had to sketch a self portrait as part of a Health and Well-being task. In the past we would have been hunting around for mirrors but a quick selfie and we could draw ourselves easily. We could even zoom in to get a better look!
P7A – Here are some reflective questions for the end of week one:
How has your week been? What has been the best thing about being back at school? What have you found challenging? What would you like to do more of?
