Hygiene Experiment

Do you always wash your hands when you should?

Well, we did an experiment to see what happens when you don’t!

We took 3 slices of white bread and put them into sealed plastic bags.  One had not been touched at all, except by a clean rubber glove, and was our control slice.  The second we all touched BEFORE we had washed our hands.  The third we all touched AFTER we had cleaned our hands really well.  We left them for 2 weeks.

Look at the results – pretty disgusting!!

The slice we passed round AFTER washing our hands also had a bit of mould on it but wasn’t quite as horrible!  We have learned to always was our hands before we eat and after using the toilet.  We also need to wash our hands when we cough or sneeze on them!!

Dance Stars

Today  we performed our Chinese New Year inspired creative dance. The whole school shared what they had been working on in PE this term and we couldn’t wait until it was our turn.

We were tenth out of the fifteen classes and got a great reaction from the audience just setting out our props! We began the dance as cats and then put on our individual masks to represent the animals from the Chinese Zodiac. We danced in pairs using movements we’d created to show how each animal might move.

Our finale was the two big Chinese Dragons and we loved scaring the audience with our roars at the end!

There were some terrific dances on display today and all 15 were totally different…or should that be 16?!!!

P3/2 would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who came along to our Charles Rennie Mackintosh Art Exhibition today. We really loved sharing our art, dance, song and writing work with you. We are going to count up the money from our sales tomorrow and if there’s any profit after the cor of the materials we will let you know what we decide to do with it
