Primary 1 enjoyed exploring the different areas around the school.
Enjoying the view from the back playground!
Playing on the obstacle course!
We have been exploring our feelings in ELC. Sometimes we all feel worried or cross and we have been exploring things that can help us feel a bit better. We enjoyed playing outside in the warm soapy water. Blowing bubbles helped us to practice taking deep, calm breaths!
We had great time in ELC recently celebrating ten years of the new school building. We explored the number ten, played some party games and of course enjoyed blowing out ten candles before our ten-themed snack!
P4/5 shared their digital skills with ELC recently by helping them learn how to do some simple programming using little robots called Beebots. Linking to the story ‘We’re Going On A Bear Hunt’, P4/5 made some bear costumes for the Beebots and a simple map of some places from the story. The ELC boys and girls then learned how to program the Beebots to get the bear robot back to his cave! The children had to use what they have been learning about positional language and sequencing to plan the bear’s route. Well done everyone!
ELC had a fantastic time today on our first Muddy Monday of the year! We explored the park and school grounds and found lots of places that reminded us of the story, including some long grass and lots of oozy mud! We even spotted a bear or two- luckily they were friendly! Thanks to the grown up helpers who came along to help today, we hope you had fun! Click on the pictures below to view our photo gallery.
Our ELC Christmas shows are finished! We hope you all enjoyed our performances on Tuesday and today.
Like we said at the show all the ideas came from the children, they helped make the backdrop and parts of the costumes – please see our floorbook for the story of this!
A huge thank you to all who came to watch us!
Christmas has landed at ELC!
We have been busy doing lots of Christmas crafts dressing up activities, reading and singing for our ELC show!
We have also had a cheeky elf visit our nursery, we look for him everyday to see what he has been up to!
We cannot wait to see you all next week at our ELC shows on Tuesday and Thursday!
We have been celebrating Book week Scotland by having stories in lots of different forms.
We have read a story outdoors at Muddy Mondays all about the cold weather. This linked in well with us talking about seasons and the children interest in ice and cold weather.
Then on Tuesday Aeya’s mum came in to do a drama/gym lesson with us and used the story “Jack Frost”. The children acted out part of the story and used their bodies in different ways to move around the gym hall! A huge thank you for doing this, the children loved it!
On Wednesday and Thursday we have been using the computer and smart board to have stories.
Tomorrow we are going to be working with primary one in the morning learning about books together.
All week children have been bringing in stories from home, and we have been sharing them at gathering time.
Please see our display in ELC and our floorbook for more photos and quotes!
