Scottish Opera have created their first online interactive opera for children aged 8-12 years. This is called ‘Fever’ and is based on a child dealing with the current COVID-19 pandemic.

There are 5 songs in Fever! Each Monday, they’ll be posting a new set of exciting activities that work through them, song by song, including:

• lyrics and teaching guides to learn each song
• videos that teach some moves to go with them
• creative writing and science tasks to try
• tips to make simple props and costumes

Over the 5 weeks, you’ll learn the whole thing! Then, you have a special invitation to join them in a nationwide virtual performance from your own home.

A big thank you to Tesco Express in Coatbridge (just along from the school) for allowing us to leave jotters and pencils for parents to collect when out doing their essential shopping.  We have supplied two different coloured jotters.  The green jotter is for P1-3 and the red jotter is for P4-7.  Just ask staff for the relevant jotter you need and they will supply you with it and a pencil too if needed.  We have restricted it to one jotter and one pencil per pupil. Thanks to Miss Glencross for helping to organise the delivery of these resources!

I have been sent some useful information from Coatbridge High School with regards to transition for our P7 pupils. I will attach the information below for you to share with your child. Transition periods can be a daunting and scary time for some pupils so it is important to talk with your child about how they are feeling and to spend time going through resources together. Myself, Mrs Waddell and Mrs Smith are also happy to help in any way we can to try and alleviate any fears or concerns you may have as a parent or any worries your child may have.  You can send your enquiries to elainepaterson@langloan.n-lanark.sch.uk.

As it stands I only have information from CBH at the moment and will post information from St Ambrose and St Andrew’s when I have it. Over the next week or so we will be posting more general transition resources that you can work on with your child.  Staff are finalising some of the details before we share it with you.
