Newton Farm Primary School and Nursery Class

Learning in Room 18

Hi everyone

Last week we had a very busy week of learning and challenge!

  • For spelling we are working on the ‘Sh’ phoneme and the different ways to write it (ti, ch)
  • We answered literal questions about our class novel. We are really enjoy Ottoline and The Yellow Cat and the strange illustrations.
  • We also used French Greetings in a comic strip design.
  • We explored angles and went on an angle hunt throughout the school. We can identify angles in different objects. We started learning how to measure angles using a protractor. This was quite tricky but we are taking our time and we are starting to get the hang of it. Miss Tighe thinks we will be able to do it by the end of this week so watch this space!
  • We also started work on our new topic Natural Disasters. We have been learning about floods and created a junk model village which has different flood preventions in place.

Thank you for reading
