Room 9 – Sunset Pyramid Pictures

Our topic this term has been all about the Ancient Egyptians. For the last couple of weeks we have been working hard to create an Ancient Egyptian sunset picture.

The first thing we had to do was to make the sunset background using oil pastels. It was very messy but we managed to tidy up the classroom afterwards.

At the bottom we started with yellow to show the sand of the desert. Then it was orange to show the setting sun and we then went through different colours until we got to the dark blue sky.

Yesterday we managed to finish off our pictures by adding the pyramids. To do this we cut out different sized triangles on blackĀ  paper and glued them onto our pictures. Even though it was messy making the pictures we all had fun. We will now display our pictures on the classroom walls.
