Mr J McGovern
I am lucky to look after the young people in Skye house. This means I support pupils with attendance, wellbeing and achievements so that the pupils in Skye house reach their potential and are well prepared for life after school. I also work as part of a wider team to support mental health and wellbeing and developing the young workforce (DYW) across the whole school.
I joined Lochend as a chemistry teacher around 8 years ago, before joining the Pastoral Care team.
Did you know? I have a real-life doppelganger – I’m a twin (he is not a teacher…)!
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially my little girl! I love going for long walks with my dog, listening to music, and going travelling. I’m also partial to a documentary or two.
The young people at Lochend make it a privilege to work here, and one of the best parts of my job is that I get to know lots of young people and their families really well. All of the staff at Lochend – no matter what their role is – work really closely together to ensure the best for all of the young people.
