Our Vision

The Lochend Charter

Our new school charter was created in session 24/25 through consultation with all stakeholders. School staff, pupils, partners and parents were given the opportunity to choose 5 phrases which they believe all stakeholders should strive to demonstrate in Lochend. We then voted on the most popular statements which became our 5 charter phrases which can be seen on the hands above.

Be Kind

Be Inclusive

Believe in Ourselves

Be Supportive

Be Respectful

It was agreed that our School Charter should be used by young people and staff to guide everyone towards creating a consistent and nurturing learning environment which supports young people to Learn, Grow and Achieve.

We use our school charter language –
to remind YP of our shared expectations and values,
to address low-level behaviours calmly and consistently,
to reinforce positive behaviours and recognise achievements,
to promote a respectful and focused learning environment.

Our Values

At Lochend, our values are at the heart of everything we do. They guide our decisions, shape our learning environment, and inspire our pupils to reach their full potential.

  • Honesty – We encourage our pupils to be truthful and act with integrity, building trust within our school community.

  • Equity – We believe every child deserves fairness, inclusion, and the opportunity to succeed, no matter their background.

  • Ambition – We nurture high aspirations, motivating our pupils to aim big and embrace new challenges with confidence.

  • Respect & Responsibility – We teach respect for ourselves, others, and the world around us, while taking responsibility for our actions and choices.

  • Determination – We celebrate resilience and perseverance, encouraging our pupils to keep trying, even when things feel difficult.

Together, these values create a positive, supportive, and inspiring school culture where every learner can thrive.
