Nurturing and Supporting Mental Wellbeing

Journaling

Writing and drawing can be helpful ways of processing how you are feeling and why you are feeling like that. Journaling can help you to cope with difficult feelings by helping your reflect on what is causing these feelings, and then think about solutions. This can make you feel calmer, more in control and more positive about the future. It is also good to record your thoughts and goals to look back on.

  • Wellington Mental Health and Wellness Trust have put together a journal  that you can fill out, colour in and then keep to document what life has been like for you during this time. Click the picture below to download and print it.

  • Keeping Gratitude Journals, or writing lists of what we are thankful for is great for our wellbeing, and can help us to feel more positive. The Bow-Wowza website has a Gratitude Tree you can make, and a Thank You letter template you can send to express gratitude to others.
