50 Things – Barefoot

Confident Individuals  Successful Learners

The Snowdrops showed lots of confidence when they had the opportunity to explore grass with their bare feet and hands. We were lucky to have some lovely weather and enjoyed the sensation of feeling the earth beneath our feet and the grass between our fingers and toes. Well done, Snowdrops!

*Responsible Citizens      *Successful Learners

We followed instructions to make a topsy turvy planter from an old plastic bottle. We planted a sunflower plant inside it and hung it in the garden. We will keep it well watered and see how it grows. Afterwards we did some more weeding and planting work in our big garden planter.

POLO Week in the Stars Class

*Confident Individuals         *Effective Contributors

The Stars class were not blessed with good weather for our outdoor education slots during POLO week. We were met with very heavy rain indeed! We did manage to create colourful water pistol pictures then used the water pistols to try and knock down upturned cups. We collected greenery and flowers to make crowns and made sure our plants were well watered on dry days. Our planned story time underneath the garden canopy took place indoors but we enjoyed ‘Wee Granny’s Magic Bag’ none the less!

POLO Week in the Snowdrops

Successful Learners     Effective Contributors     Confident Individuals

The Snowdrops have participated actively in lots of outdoor themed learning during POLO week.

We enjoyed a nature walk and collected some sticks to make into stick men. We also explored how grass felt and used some to decorate the letter ‘g’ for grass. We showed lots of interest in looking at our shadows and managed to chalk around some of them, too. The Snowdrops were very confident at using binoculars and  showed interest in looking at birds and insects. We also had fun  looking for items in the garden that were bigger than our hand.

POLO WEEK

We had great fun this week doing outdoor learning activities for polo week. We made posters, painted stones, made leaf people, we played with bubbles, made our own bubbles, did some learning and drawings with chalk, went on a nature walk and collected leaves and we made a bug hotel. We had so much fun outdoor learning and looking at nature.

On Wednesday the comets did some fantastic flower art with Mrs McDonald. They look awesome. Well done comets.

Friday was full of indoor activities as it was a rainy day. We did games, a movie and a story. There was plenty of dancing too. We got a wee bit of time in the garden and seen all the plants that are growing.

POLO Week

Confident Individuals

The Moonbeams have enjoyed many opportunities for outdoor learning and experiences this week. On Monday they enjoyed a short walk to Kay Park in the rain. The children relaxed under the new school tent in the sensory garden while listening to a story and they worked well together to build a water feature out of funnels where they explored pouring from different heights.
