LGBT

Next Friday we will celebrate LGBT and the acceptance of who you are, ‘Proud To Be You’.  This is our class theme for the month of February.

We tried and tested our activity that will be completed on LGBT Purple Friday.   We are making a rainbow canvas wall art, with the phrases ‘LOVE’ or ‘PROUD’.  We will post the finished design next week.

We were successful learners in listening and following the instructions to create our rainbow design.

Swimming

We have had two blocks at the Galleon for swimming lessons.  Everyone worked very hard and were successful learners as well as being confident individuals.

Ethan, Blake and Jack have been swimming lengths of the pool from the shallow end down to the deep end!

Fantastic determination and concentration when taking part in their lessons.

Blake started to learn how to dive in at the deep end and Ethan has made great progress with his front crawl technique.

Jack has made amazing progress! He finished his final swimming lesson by swimming six lengths of the pool with only the support of a pool noodle!  He was so confident!

Well done everyone!

Oak Class Bake Off

We finished off this week with a cookie bake off, we had two teams, two different recipes. Bring it on!

Healthy competition between the two teams, green team against the black team. No pupil wanted to be in Mrs Murray’s team, they have seen her baking skills!

We were all successful learners and followed the instructions to make the cookies.  They tasted lovely but we need more practice on working the appearance of our cookies.

Computer Research

The Transition boys were Successful Learners in their SQA Residential class. They used the computer to find out about Dumfries House and print extracts of what they found. The boys went even further and used their literacy skills when they asked if they could type up short summaries or titles for each photograph they selected. They worked extremely hard!
