The Stars Class have enjoyed a fantastic week where we saw not only Harris McCoo but Singing Hands too. What a treat! We’ve worked hard too and made an Autumn sensory bottle, added to our Nanny McPhee wall display and made yucky ‘worm’ sandwiches at HE which actually were very tasty!
The Transition boys were Successful Learners when they worked hard on their literacy skills. They picked a book which they thought would be enjoyable and told Mr Nicoll all about the main theme from text and picture clues. Good book detective work boys!
The Transition boys were Successful Learners in their literacy lesson by reading the sentence carefully and putting in the correct answer.
This week has been quick and very busy. Some of us enjoyed being in for full days and have enjoyed all the fun activities. We have been looking at the letter and sound “S” this week. We did lots of activities about “S”. We enjoyed looking in Mr Tumble’s spotty bag for “s” and things beginning with “s”. We were finding magnetic letters in spaghetti, we made our own spiders and played with the fish swimming in the water.
We also had a special job to do. We had to get our foot painted to make something special for later in the year. All the Sunflower boys really enjoyed this and have tickly feet.
The Stars Class have noticed the trees are changing in the garden. We collected different coloured leaves and made colourful autumn prints with them. We had fun exploring a Nanny McPhee story bag and handling the props.
The Transition boys managed to brave going outside before Storm Ali arrived to do some literacy work. The were all Successful Learners when asked to find objects around our Sensory Garden and spell out what they had found using their magnetic boards.
Transition boys were successful learners by spelling their names onto the whiteboards. Well done boys!
The Moonbeams have had a great first week back. We have all been working very hard and have enjoyed making new friends in our new class. We discussed our class rules and made a life size school boy to label with our rules. We were confident individuals when we made pizzas during cookery. We all were excellent at showing off our chopping skills. We enjoyed making monster canvases using straws to blow the paint. We even gave them exciting names.
The Transition boys have been talking about their favourite foods this morning. We found symbols of the foods that we liked and practised writing them on our boards.
