50 Things – Boat Trip and Burns Activities

The Stars class had fun creating paper boats and checking whether they would float or not. Thankfully they did! We will take our boating pond outside in the better weather. We enjoyed Burns activities this week making oatcakes and a Robert Burns silhouette picture. The Scottish songs were good too.

Enterprise – Café Time

Our café opened today for the first time of 2020, Sunflowers were our first customers.

All pupils had a role within our team, they were all effective contributors and fulfilled their roles to ensure we had very happy customers.

We sang a ‘Good Luck’ song for Miss Campbell and then our café workers entertained their customer by singing and signing ‘Shotgun’.

FAOL Enterprise

For our school Christmas market all classes make something to sell. We decided to make hot chocolate reindeer. All pupils were able to pour hot chocolate into the cone shape bags. Most pupils were able to stick on the details to add faces to our designs. Some pupils were able count an amount of marshmallows for each cone.

It’s Beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

This week we were very lucky and got to go a trip to the cinema to see Spiderman.  Everyone was very responsible as it was very busy with a lot of other schools. Spiderman was clearly a very popular film choice for the Into Film Festival.

Meanwhile the rest of the week has been feeling a lot like Christmas in November, everyone worked together and were all effective contributors to create our Enterprise item, Candy cane Elves to sell at the Christmas market.

We pieced together our class igloo and added some lights, we have all had great fun taking it in turn to lie in the igloo and look through the star shapes that are cut out the roof.

Cameron enjoyed pretending to be a walking igloo, once he realised his head could fit through the roof.

Fireworks & Cakes

We enjoyed listening to a firework story and then we made sparkly firework pictures.  We were working on our fine motor skills to complete this task.

Café Latte has opened again for the year so we were busy making cupcakes for the café on Friday.  Everyone was effective contributors and enjoying making and of course doing a quick quality control taste test once they were ready.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Activities

The Stars class invited the Sungazers class for a golden ticket treasure hunt. As it was raining we had to have it indoors but nevertheless we had a fun time. We made tasty chocolate crispie cake to serve for snack.

We had our second visit to CC’s Chocolate Creations where owner Carol warmly welcomed us. We saw all the chocolate creations she’d made and enjoyed dipping marshmallows in melted chocolate. Yum! We used our new eco bag when shopping.

Lickable Wallpaper

As part of our Charlie and the Chocolate Factory theme we made ‘lickable wallpaper’ just like in Willy Wonka’s factory. We used ‘Fruit Winders’ to make patterned wallpaper which we were able to lick. It tasted of strawberries and apples.
