The Stars class used potatoes and onions we grew in the garden to make vegetable soup at H.E. We worked really hard to prepare and chop the vegetables. It tasted delicious.

Another school year has started and everyone in the Oak class have settled in very well.
We have had a busy few weeks and everyone has been confident individual getting to know their new class friends.
The Oak class motto this year is ‘Try Everything’ and we delivered our first class assembly based on this theme and ‘Being the Best We Can Be’. We got everyone up dancing to our song ‘Try Everything’.
Have a look at some of the activities we have taken part in;
The Transition boys put in a lot of effort and were Confident Individuals when they completed there movement and balance circuits. The boys had to balance on logs, walk like crabs, hop like frogs and many other activities.
The Stars Class have been getting to know our new class these past two weeks. We have been playing ‘getting to know you’ games and have been enjoying time outside in the sunshine. We worked hard clearing the weeds that had grown over the summer in our planter. They were huge! After the weeds were removed we were able to find the potatoes, onions and peas that we had grown. We discussed our feelings and emotions then made playdoh faces. See if you can recognise our emotions – happy, sad, upset, angry, surprised, excited and sleepy.
The Transition boys had a lovely time at the Bluebells Hawaiian party. They were Confident Individuals playing games, limbo dancing and having great fun with their buddies.
The Stars class have had a good ‘Play on the longest day’ week. We created nature’s crowns, painted with natural paint brushes, did leaf printing, had a picnic in the garden, planted peas and green beans, did number work, had a colour treasure hunt, played on the playground equipment and had story time. We had a busy and enjoyable week.
POLO day today – Power of Learning Outdoors.
The boys were confident individuals when taking part in all our activities.
We made lovely bespoke shoes from bubble wrap then dipped them in paint and strutted our stuff on the catwalk.
We also used the sticks we collected yesterday and created our initial with sticks.
The painted stones were used to play Xs and Os, then we got a history lesson from Mrs Boyle on how to play peevers.
We enjoyed our Summer Sensory Assembly on Wednesday, dressing up and playing with the beach ball was our favourite station.
They were confident individuals moving around the stations and taking part with only a small amount of support.
The Stars class invited the Sungazers class to a Bush Tucker Treasure Hunt in the sensory garden. We looked for fruit pictured in our worksheet and counted them. Afterwards we had a sociable snack together in the Stars class. Everybody seemed to have a good time.
The Stars class have planted vegetable plants in the school garden. We have planted peas, courgettes, pumpkins, carrots, onions and potatoes. We keep them well watered and hope we will have a healthy crop of vegetables to harvest after the holidays.
