The Way The Cookie Crumbles

Although there were no cookies involved there was a crumble. The Transition boys made quite a large Apple crumble on Thursday in cooking and it was delicious. Everyone did their jobs very well and were all Effective Contributors during the morning. None managed to make it home and for a change it wasn’t Mr Jenkinson’s fault.

Outdoor learning

Today is the longest day of the year. We spent lots of time outside doing lots of fun activities.  We made out own bubble wands and tried to put ourselves  inside a huge bubble. We also went into the garden and made our own outdoor sensory bracelets.  We made our own pin wheels and went out to see if the wind moved them. We also did some rubbings of different materials in the playground.

A Walk in The Park

All the boys in Transition got a chance to go over to the Kay Park to do some work this week. They all had to do a small nature trail and choose things they spotted on the ground on the way to the park. They were all Responsible Citizens when walking to and from the park. Everyone got a shot of the swings as well to finish off a great afternoon.

Sensory Story Time

The boys in transition had a bit of fun this week with a sensory story about a haircut read by Mr Nicoll. They were all Effective Contributors and as you can see their favourite part was when they got a hair cut. Ethan quite suits it I’d say.

FAOL – Enterprise French Food Trolley

This term our theme was France. During our cookery sessions we made a variety of different French foods. The boys then chose what they wanted to make and a class to invite to our French morning. We made croissants, pain au chocolat and French toast. We even used our building skills to construct our very own Eiffel Tower from biscuits. It was very delicate work. The boys chose the Daisies to come and we opened the door connecting our classes and presented it was the Euro Tunnel. All pupils helped to make a poster. Some pupils took orders from our friends and gave them what they asked for.

Power Off, Lights Off Day 2019

We have had so much fun spending the longest day of the year outdoors. We have been confident individuals applying our knowledge of different curricular areas to complete lots of outdoor activities.

We have been ordering letter and number pebbles to make number lines and spell our names, have used problem solving skills to build out own den, have taken part in a colour hunt and have used natural resources of our own choice to make imprints into clay.
