Reach For The Stars Electives

As the children mentioned during the Reach for the Stars presentation, we have introduced ‘electives’ in school.

Mrs McKee and Mrs McLaughland consulted with the children to gather their views about which activities they would like to see on offer. Electives should be motivating and engaging for the children and activities that they really enjoy and look forward to participating in.  Mrs McKee was delighted to see so many active electives being proposed and has already met with our new Active Schools Co-ordinator, Cherryl Fulton, in order to offer as many varied sporting opportunities as possible.  There were also many other electives ideas suggested by the children from cooking and crafts to K,Nex and knitting!

We will do our best to offer a range of electives each block and keep our ideas fresh, creative and innovative therefore encouraging our children to ‘Reach for the Stars’!

Post from the GFG !

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

In 2017/18 the GFG donated a massive £5000 to Gargieston Primary and ECC. This paid for:

5 iPads. Table tennis equipment. A new sound system – microphone packs . Sports t shirts for school/class events. Drawstring bags for school football strips. Graphics Road Safety Sign for the school car park. Wet weather boxes for every class. A donation towards every classes Christmas party. Christmas presents for the infant department and ECC. Graduation ties for ECC and P7 leavers. A donation towards the P7 leavers party.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
We had a number of events in order to raise money to add to our funds.

The events organised were : Christmas Cards, Designing and selling Tea Towels, Class photographs, Halloween Disco, Spring Disco, Family Beetle Drive, Ladies Night, Zumba/Football Fundraising Event, ECC Bunny Hop Fundraising Event and a Movie Night.

We would just like to thank everyone that helped towards raising this amazing amount of money for Gargieston Primary and ECC. This can only be done with your help through donating, volunteering and attending events.

Composite Class Meeting

The staff at Gargieston have been working together to allocate pupils to their classes for next session. As you may be aware, our school roll is increasing significantly with a Primary 1 intake consisting of 80 children.

Next session, there will be 15 classes of which 4 are composite classes.

If your child has been placed in one of these classes, I would like to invite you to attend a short information meeting in the school at 2.45pm on Thursday, 14th June which will give you the opportunity to find out more about composite classes and ask any questions you may have.

I look forward to meeting with you.

Mrs Julie McKee
