Harris McCoo showcase

Thank you to everyone who attended the Harris McCoo showcase today. The children in the ECC and Base 1 had a fantastic time showing off their learning.

 

 

Communication board update

Please have at  the updates on the communication board

This months Top Tip is getting down to your child’s level this has many benefits including making your child feel valued, building positive relationship, allowing you both to make good eye contact with each other and role modelling appropriate behaviour as this is the best way to obtain desired behaviour from your child.

Please  also note that the SALT help line is now available on a Monday morning from 8.30am to 10.30am as well as the usual Thursday from 2pm-4pm if you would like some advice about your child’s speech or communication skills.

Rotary Quiz

Congratulations to our P7 quiz team representing Gargieston in the New Laigh Church tonight. After 6 rounds of very difficult questions they came joint second with Onthank – just 1 point behind the eventual winners, Nether Robertland.

We were extremely proud of our team and what a great night for Calum Stewart, Blaike Hay, Katy Newlands and Amy Tickner (plus all their families) to remember.

Parent Council

New meeting minutes have now been added

and available to view under the Parent Council Tab.

It is lovely to hear of our children showcasing their talents outwith school.  Congratulations to Evie, Ross and Lauren who represented Gargieston PS at a cello concert held in Kilwinning Abbey on Sunday afternoon.

Bookbug Session

Thank you to everyone who attended our recent Bookbug session.

Our next session will take place on Thursday 21st February 2019, if you would like to attend please add your name to the list on the communication board.

Morning session will be 9am – 9.30am

Afternoon session will be 1pm-1.30pm

We will provide tea /coffee after the session for anyone who wishes to stay.

 

Junk Modelling ECC

Thanks for all your junk donations, we now have plenty for our art area and don’t need any more.

We would like to welcome Mrs McDowall to our clerical team in the school office.

Mrs McDowall will be with us on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for the foreseeable future.

Base 1

In Base 1 we have lots of hats, gloves and scarves. Today and Monday at 3:15 you are invited to come in and look for lost items.

P7 Burns Supper

Well done to all the Primary 7 children who performed at our annual Burns Supper. They recited, sang and played beautifully for their parents, grandparents and friends. They even helped prepare the supper with the delicious shortbread they made with Mrs Cowie!
