GFG Update for 2019-2020

We thought we would let you know what the GFG has raised so far this session, with the help from parents, grandparents, friends and family.

We have raised nearly £3000 for Gargieston Primary and ECC! We added £3000 from last session to this sum and it has paid for…

School – The Active Literacy Project resources; the outdoor clock installation; a contribution towards the Christmas parties.

ECC -Outdoor learning equipment and materials; books for Christmas presents.

We have organised a variety of events so far in order to raise these funds to purchase the equipment and resources. The events organised by the GFG have been:

Summer Sizzler Fun Day – £304.14 Hallowe’en Disco – £746.78 Christmas mugs, cushions etc. – £332.67 Christmas tea towels – £359.00 Photographs – £960.00

Gargieston Parent Council – Change of date

The next meeting of Gargieston Parent Council will take place on Monday 9^nd March 2020 @ 7pm in the meeting room within Gargieston Primary School.

This meeting is open to both members and non-members of the committee and a warm welcome awaits any new faces.

If you have any items you would like added to the agenda please email gargiestonparentcouncil@gmail.com by midday Friday 28^th February 2020.

iCycle Training

Mr McDowell and Mr Stewart organise iCycle training for our Primary 6 children each year. This training is delivered after school from 3.30 until 4.30pm over 8 weeks commencing w/b 9^th March. This year, we have 47 children interested in taking part. We are absolutely delighted with the level of interest but this means we will need to deliver the training in 2 groups. Mr McDowell and Mr Stewart are happy to offer their time to lead the training on a Wednesday and a Thursday after school but we need your help to ensure it can go ahead.

Please indicate on the drop down below if you could offer your time to support our children in their iCycle training. We welcome help from parents / carers from any stage in the school.

Leaving school at 9.10 to walk to the Grange.

Return around lunch time – no home lunches on the day please.

Full school uniform, warm jacket and suitable outdoor shoes.

Pupils can take a small morning snack.

Roon The Toon

Entries for Roon The Toon 2020 are now open!

We are looking for enthusiastic parents and staff from the school to sign up for the Roon the Toon this summer. There is a special category prize for the best Educational Establishment Team. Last year Gargieston won the best male team and it would be great to repeat their success this year.
