Well done to everyone!
We would like to give the children the opportunity to be part of a ski team representing the school on Saturday 28th March 9 am to 3 pm in Newmilns.
The conditions for entry from the organisers are that parents understand the risks of participating in snow sports and accept full responsibility for their child, and that the children are competent skiers, can link turns and use uplift tows. Photographs will be taken on the day and may subsequently be posted online.
Only teams of 4 can be entered. If you require more details please phone 01560 322 320 and please notify Mrs Lawson by Friday 28th February if you would like to enter your child.
At Gargieston, we recognise that being healthy is about more than just our physical health. This session, as part of our improvement plan, we are focusing on supporting our children with their mental and emotional health.
We thought this graphic produced to celebrate Children’s Mental Health week had some lovely prompts for nurturing a child’s mental health.
Apologies – this was missed off the letters!
A new programme is beginning to give Grange Education Group girls the same opportunities as the boys currently receive. This is initiative is with a view to forming a girls’ district squad.
It will target Primary 6 and 7 girls and the first night takes place this Friday 31st January at Ayrshire College from 3.30pm – 5pm.
The girls would be expected to make their own way there but Mr Smith will meet them at the college for the first week to assist in any way he can.
Friday will start with all the girls playing games in mixed school teams. Ultimately the organisers are looking to form 3 teams ranging from established competitive players, to improvers, to those who would just like to play for fun.
If your daughter would like to attend please let Mrs Lawson know as soon as possible.
Many thanks.
We have received information regarding an East Ayrshire Schools gymnastics team competition which will take place on Friday 24th January at Auchinleck Academy. Each team would have either 3 or 4 gymnasts. We would like to invite experienced gymnasts from Primary 4 to 7 who would like to take part to contact Mrs Lawson for more details as soon as possible, as the closing date for entries is Friday – 10th January.
Many thanks.
Congratulations to our middle school Netball team. Last week they took part in a tournament at Kyle Academy and won three of their four matches! An amazing achievement for their first competitive games. Thank you for representing the school so well.
Thanks also to Kirsty Mackay, Charlie Mackay and Amy Tickner for giving up their own time to come and coach the team – we really appreciate it!
Thanks to all who has attended our Make & Taste Sessions for the last 5 weeks. Hope you had lots of fun making our festive snacks yesterday! 😀
All of your feedback over the weeks is much appreciated too. We hope to do more of these sessions again soon!
